Compaq Presario 5700N Mobo ID
I have a Presario 5700N Desktop from Compaq (before the merger). I was wondering if I could upgrade the processor, but i don't know what kind of mobo it has, and what it's ceiling is. Is there some kind of mobo ID tool that will tell me the fastest CPU i can put in there?

You can try out this software to find out more information about your motherboard.
http://www.cpuid.com/pcw.php There really isn't any software that will tell you what your limit is for CPU upgrades. |

Ya, post what the CPUID program says about things - and if that doesn't work, post some pictures of the motherboard, including any identifying marks involving make/model of motherboard... with that information we can help you figure out what the CPU upgrade limit is... though it's going to be somewhat interesting because its a Compaq...

Motherboard Homeworld
Motherboard Homeworld has a cool MOBO ID tool that will ID any mobo even older ones it uses " Part number" or "Bios ID string".
This is a place to check out. http://www.motherboards.org/moboidtools.html For tuff cases they have the "Mobo Cop" this is a case file that they will open and find info for all most any motherboard made at any time. On the Mobo Cop page look for Bios Wizard A great program to get your BIOS string ID number and discover some other interesting things about your BIOS. http://www.motherboards.org/mobocop.html Last edited by RACEOMATIC; Jan 15, 2003 at 05:36 AM. |
