Help confused with NEW MBoards...

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=247003

I am confused with these new motherboards and there sockets

Can that above MBoard support the Socket 478 Pentiurm 4?

Or another question is there a MB out there with PCI - E that still supports the Socket 478?

I don't have a lot of experience with Albatron boards, but Asrock is a pretty reputable manufacturer of boards- albeit low-end. As long as you aren't looking to do a lot of overclocking, then I would imagine that it would be just fine.

Well there is no way I am geting the 775 motherboards. Way to be of an expense now with the price of those Pentiums.

Hello Merlinxi,

From what I understand, you want a socket 478 motherboard, yet with a PCI-E video card slot.

If so, the only one I could recommend is the Albatron PX915P4C. It is not anything special, but from the line of socket 478 / 915P Chipset motherboards it is the only one that worths the attention.

I've been using the Albatron for about 3 months and haven't had any problems. I'm using a 2.8e with a 7800GT and it run great. The only other thing I had to do was change power supplies to one that supported a 24 pin plug.
