dual core & bios

Heres my pickle,
recently bought my self dual core amd due to arrive sometime today or following day

but my problem is my mobos bios version is old 1 that doesnt support dual core yet so was wondering if pluging my cpu in it would still work for a short time?

if not is there any way to flash bios with new 1

i would think not as ya need cpu for that... so there any way around this problem

i dont have any other cpus in which to use

edit; sorry my mobo is asus a8n deluxe

I don't see why it wouldn't work. What processor are you using right now?

it should work

when i bought my X2 4400+ i plugged it in and it showed up as UNKNOWN processor.
useing core 0 only.
when i flashed my mobo bios it then showed the correct name of the processor and was able to use it correctly

if anything it should show up as unknown untill you flash your bios.
