internet address question
I've recently been messing around with Mirc, i am pretty new to all this. Theres just one thing that bothers me. When you do the /whois command it seems to display more than i want to show for a host name. The IP is hidden but it gives this "c3-0.bkl-ubr1.sbo-bkl.ma.cable.rcn.com"
When i look at others, it seems to give them a simpler less informative address like "hsd1.wa.comcast.net" Sorry if this seems obvious to some, but i was wondering if there was a way to change my address, or if thats just the way it is Thanks

Thats the identification of your internet provider itself, so the way to change it is to swap providers.
But in all honesty why you'd worry about that I have no idea, guarantee you'll never need that adress for anything.... its all done by TCP/IP adresses these days |
