ReZiN8R is on a distinguished road

Upgrading Mobo need help choosing.

hi i'm going to be buying a new motherboard in the next couple of weeks as i want to upgrade to socket 939 AMD 64 bit. I was going to get an ASUS board as i have currently got an ASUS board and it's been the best board i've had for reliability and performance. i've tried quite a few different makes in the past and the ASUS has been best. I was thinking of getting this board Asus A8N-E nForce4 Ultra (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-088-AS) http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=3&l2=15&l3=171&model=455&modelme nu=1. i'll be buying a new PCI-E graphics card too so i want an PCI-E for sure. can anyone tell me if this is a good board to get. or is there any other board you can reccomend for around the same price £70-£80 i'm not too bothered about features like onboard sound. infact i'd rather have one with out onboard sound. i just want a good board for games. It doesn't have to be an ASUS board but i know ASUS is a good make but i'm willing to get a different one if anyone can highly reccomend getting a different make or board. any help is appreciated because i'm a bit out of date on the new hardware available and want to make sure i get a good board. is that a decent board the one i've been looking at? thanks

Mark

The A8N-E is a good overall motherboard, although a little weak on the overclocking sector.

Have a look on the A8R-MVP Crossfire motherboard, I think it is in your price range and it is a good motherboard as well. It is a good idea to get a Crossfire ready motherboard if you are a gamer, you can always add a second PCI-E card later.

Concerning other brands, the DFI nF4 Ultra-D is a very much loved motherboard, as well as the Sapphire Pure Innovation. But these are mostly loved by enthusiasts and overclockers, if you need a simple and fast motherboard for gaming and applications both of the above motherboards will suit you fine.
