Which mobo For Opteron 248??

Having just bought an Opteron 428, I wondered which is the best mobo to get for it for a reasonable price, with the intention of some gentle to moderate overclocking?

I'm not hardcore into water and all that like tulc et all, but I will certainly want to push the performance a little given what I've been reading about these things

budget wise I'm probably talking up to £60 / £70 tops ($105 / $120 US)

opinions always welcomed

Well here's what I found, Richy:

I have no experience with 940 boards, so I can't help you there. You might want to do some research.

Wow, doing a quick search, the prices of s940 boards are nuts

Yeah, it's the market - server, workstation, extreme gamer...

didn't cost a lot tbh

need to find a mobo at the right price though, not paying £400 and all that silly money people want for them

found one for around £100, would like one cheaper, but still want to be able to overclock it

2 way as in they can be run in a two chip server, because it has the prerequisite number of HT links (3 vs. just 1 for a regular Athlon 64)

248?..... why not spend a bit more and get the 270s?

a well.... your most likely looking for something with pci-ex... and from any reviews i've seen.. your going to want to get a tyan board with the nforce 2900 series chipset (this may be the wrong number... sorry... i haven't looked to much into the multi chip boards aside for one guy that is nutz enough to pay 12 grande for a 8 cpu setup)

as for overclocking... your going to have difficulty doing so.... options for such things are pretty slim to none on the dual socket boards....typically....

yeah, but it runs in single socket 940 boards too, so as long as I can lay my hands on one of those for sensible money I should be laughing.....I hope

I like a challenge anyways
