It reminds me GTX 480 architecture (384-bit). It makes me believe that THEY have already done this at the GTX-480 era . All for the profit of course. Shame! So don't be surprised if they come out with a BEAST GTX 512-bit (280era) with the many tweaks

I don't think Folding is double precision, so it's probably detrimental.

I don't think it's supposed to be, really. It's for people who have to have the best and are willing to pay through the nose to get it. High-end hardware is always inferior in terms of "bang per buck".

That said, it's a seriously impressive piece of engineering.
