TRENDnet Ships Powerful Web Smart PoE+ Switch

by MIG-31 | Wed 31 July 2013, 7:00 | Discuss

TRENDnet, a best-in-class wired and wireless networking hardware brand, today expands its PoE switch portfolio with the launch of the powerful 10-Port Gigabit Web Smart PoE+ Switch, model TPE-1020WS.

This sturdy, metal, rack mountable switch is quiet due to its fanless design. It features eight Gigabit PoE+ ports, which automatically supplies PoE+ (up to 30 Watts) and PoE (up to 15 Watts) power to connected devices. Two Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports are shared with two SFP slots. TRENDnet's energy saving GREENnet technology powers down ports when not in use -resulting in power savings of up to 70%. The TPE-1020WS is IPv6 ready, with full IPv6 support. Embedded traffic management technology includes: 802.3ad link aggregation, Asymmetric VLAN, 802.1Q VLAN, Voice VLAN, GVRP, 802.1p Class of Service (CoS), and QoS queue scheduling.

Security protocols including ACL, SSL, MAC/port filtering, 802.1X, TACACS+, and RADIUS support layered security controls. Real time traffic comparison charts, error group charts, and a convenient cable diagnostic test aides in rapid troubleshooting. RMON, SNMP, SNMP Trap, and Port Mirroring support administrator monitoring solutions.

recently put together a 8 port trendnet switch that is PoE+ with 6 wired PoE cameras..... definitely meant for rackmount with no ability to mount it really any other way sadly... still it's damn awesome having all the power ran through a single data/power cable to the cameras, and with the switch doing the job, having it on backup power means flawless backup power options in the event of a line cut or power outage.
