6600GT Next-gen performance
I have recently ordered a Gigabyte 6600GT PCI-E 128mb, and i am wondering how it will perform for next gen games. Keep in mind that i only have a 15" monitor so i cant go any higher than 1024 x 768. I have looked at many reviews and benchmarks of this particular 6600GT and it handles the current generation of games easily (except for maybe FEAR on max and COD2 on max, but many people cant handle this).
So i am asking if anyone knows how this will cope in next gen games. BTW: I am upgrading from a Xpress 200 intergrated GPU (if it matters). Cheers for your replies - Nymins

Next-gen games, I'm not so sure. It'll probably play 'em all, but only at lower resolutions and settings. But this generation, it'll still play just fine, but maybe not at the absolute highest.
Good luck with your new card (and by the way, your upgrade will show HUGE leaps in performance, just make sure you clean out your ATi drivers properly using the Catalyst Uninstaller from ATi and DriverCleaner Pro from here).

Ok. Thanks for the driver cleaning advice. Didn't really know what to do with them.

yea i was thinking of the same thing. most games like FEAR and especialyl BF2 need at least 1GB of ram to run at a constantly good frame rate. I may invest in some cheapish PC3200 ram after i get the card.
