7600 will probably give you better performance overall with its more pipes etc. What are your system specs?

the 7600GT is way better, but it costs more. if you're on a budget the 6600GT is still good. I've got 2 systems running 6600GT's

get a 7600 if possible the 6600s or at least some have a DPC bug which I believe is what causes my jerky mouse and slow 2d performance. This bug was fixed in the 7600 series.

If it is a driver problem then its in over 10 versions of the drivers since I have tried a dozen or so. The research I did and evidence is backing up its DPCs, since if the pc has more apps loaded and/or is under load the mouse is fine and smooth and of course is fine in 3d. |

After replacing a 6600GT with a 7600GT, I have to recommend the 7600GT. It's much faster. In Oblivion, I'm getting much better frame rates and as such can turn on more eye candy.
Yes, it's more expensive, but I think it's worth it.
