I have a Gateway Performance 1300 with a Visiontek GeForce2 Ultra. That Visiontek company went out of business so I can't ask them this question. I've emailed nVidia but who knows when they'll get back if ever.
Anyway, in Feb 2005 I upgraded the driver to version 7.1.8.4 and it's been working very well I think. Now, though, a new game (Tiger Woods 2006) crashes, and (to make a long story short) EASports recommends a driver upgrade for me. TW 2004 and 2005 worked fine, still playing 05. A couple of days ago I was on the nVidia website and ended up seeing that version 66.93 is the one to get for my card, and downloaded it. But... I'm already at version 7.1.8.4, as I mentioned. So I haven't downgraded to 66.93 Then, just now over at http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_do...bit_91.31.html they say that to get the right driver for the GForce2 Ultra go to http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_71.89.html - that's version 7.1.8.9 You can see why I'm confused. Any recommendations?

What operating system you using? I see that the Gateway Performance 1300 was shipped with win98, TW06 needs win2000 or XP to run.

problem solved, sorta...
Sorry to bother anyone here. I got the game working. First, I went to 7189. Didn't help. Then, EA's next suggestion was to uninstall (again!), set up a new XP Admin account and install it under that. It worked. The game still crashes under my normal login though, bit of a pain.

Did you make sure to use DriverCleaner Pro between you driver installations?
You can grab it at www.drivercleaner.net

By the way, you're not bothering anyone by asking questions, they're a friendly bunch on here and asking questions and answering them, if possible, is all part of the forum experience.
