Problem with 7900GT

I've had my 7900GT for a few months now and it has been working perfectly until recently, where i've been getting serious color distortions in many games. Entire objects, buildings, and walls will randomly turn pure white, purple, or yellow in BF2, CS:S, CoD2, even the campaign map in rome total war is turning purple. The objects that are messed up will alternate as well, and alt tabbing sometimes fixes the problem, or makes it worse. Sometimes in CoD my gun will be pure white, i'll alt tab and then all hay bails or grass will be white. I've tried wiping my drivers, and installing the latest, I did a system restore to before the problems occured, and i've made sure that everything is fine in DXDiag, which it is. I'm really at a loss as to why this is happening.

I didn't gret a screenshot of it, but at one point I also had an error where all lights in BF2 were represented as white squares on my screen.
Example 1
Example 2
Example 3
Example 4
Example 5

AMD Athlon 64 3800+, ASUS A8N-SLI delux motherboard, 2 gigs ddr400 cas2.0 corsair ram, Creative X-fi, Leadtek 7900GT. PSU is a Rosewill RP550V2-D-SL 550W SLI Ready-ATX 12V V2.01. And when I checked in the Bios the +12v looked fine.

This seems like a Driver issue. Try using a few different driver builds(Sometimes newer isn't better), if you haven't done that already. If that doesn't work try what nicnik said and if that doesn't work I would RMA it.

Welcome to the forums!

As for the problem w/your gfx card, it's not really artifacting....so try the driver thing first, like previously suggested. The latest available are the 93.71s. Try those if you haven't done so already. If you're already using them, try the last set, which was the 91.47s. Remember to uninstall the old drivers first. It's best to uninstall them in safe mode, and i would also recommend that you use DriverCleaner to make sure that all previous files were completely removed.

If the driver thing doesn't work, try the reformat like suggested above. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your MoBo, and the gfx card. And install the chipset drivers first, then gfx card drivers, then drivers for anything else you may have installed on your machine that requires drivers.

If that doesn't work....RMA the card like said above as well.

seriously though, the problem can be coming from anywhere from a virus to corrupted file, all the way to bad setting in bios. Can try if turning off write combining makes a difference also. And also if u have system restore, check if u have an old date. of course it'll prob make more problems, which is why u wil have to uninstall all recent items then system restore to the oldest working date (if any). Make sure u have a reg and pagefile defrag program coz after a system restore they are immensely fragged up.

Well so far i've done everything except reformat, though it is getting worse. I'm now getting distortions on my desktop/startmenu.

Yeah, my friend has the exact same card as me, so i'm going to swap it to make sure it's the card, and then i'll be RMAing it.
