Nvidia 6200 256mb Card Issues
Hello,
I recently bought this card off ebay Axle Nvidia 6200 256mb AGP Graphics Card. Now the card works fine with movies and browsing the web, however, whenever I try to play any games (only tested 2 Lord of the Rings online and Tabula Rasa) the screen is black with white cracks in the background like it is trying to play the game and I can hear the game perfectly, it sounds like it is running very smoothly, tabula rasa was a little better by showing the screen but it appeared that it was playing in 16bit color 256 colors or something like that. The driver I installed for the card came off the CD I have also tried drivers from Axles website and Nvidias website. Does anyone have any ideas or any experience with this type of card? I am willing to try a anything before I attempt to go through the hassle of getting the ebay store to send me another one. Any/all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bb Update, I found that in DXdiag the Direct3d test under display, the first test where it shows the box first, although I can see the box it is missing colors, under direct x 8 I can barely see anything and under direct x 9 you cannot see a thing. I tried reinstalling a Direct X but it did not make a difference should I keep trying to install different direct X? Any help would be appreciated. Update #2 After reading around I decided to try an change the AGP speed from 8x to 4x in the bios and this did improve the quality of the Direct 3d but it is still pretty bad. I have tried messing with several bios settings which have made no difference. I currently have all the most up to date Bios IDE and AGP drivers. Issue Resolved I was able to fix the problem by reinstalling windows XP, must have been one of those odd combatiability bugs. Oh well a fresh install of windows solved all the problems.
