Need help Nvidia 6200

I play a game called ryl2. Every GeForce card I have had crashes out and the video drivers just disappear. I tried to download and install the omega drivers for the Nvidia series and XP.

When i logged back into xp and it loaded the drivers the screen went to completely pixelated out. looked like a close up on carpet fiber and I could not see anything.

I went into safe mode to see if there was a way to change some settings but of course I cant find any type of settings for the drivers in safemode. So now I am once again running the forceware 169.21 from nvidia's website and everytime i crash out once i have to reboot. I also tried the drivers I found 169.28 beta on another site and it crashes out more often. The drivers that came with the card originally were of no real use either.

System info.

winxp SP2
2.66ghz
1gb ram
EVEA e-GeForce 6200 256mb AGP 8x

Is there a fix to be able to use the omega drivers or am i stuck without another option on drivers for fixing this problem i have with my drivers unloading and having to reboot my computer each time i crash out?

Any help would be VERY Greatly Appreciated.

guys I'm using geforce 6200 and I have the same problem can anyone help?

Just another thing, I have had this same issue with mx 400 128mb, tnt2 ultras 64mb, and an older geforce 2 cant remember the model. Everytime i use a Radeon with the game i dont get these issues.

driver cleaner is your answer, but just be careful on how you use it.

Hello deathbynight,

You might could try looking in the driver archive and looking for the Forceware release 90 version 91.85. It's whql certified so it should work. That is an older card that you have so it may be better to use the older drivers for better compatibility.

Drivercleaner is good to use I'm sure, but I've always did it the old fashioned way through the add/remove programs list. After you unistall your current drivers, go to your program files folder and make sure the Nvidia directory is gone. If it isn't delete the folder then restart Windows and install the driver I mentioned.

I hope you get it working.

I tried driver cleaner and then reinstalled the drivers and I have the same issue. Also tried the registry cleaner as well to make sure there were no old bad entries left to cause the problem. I will try the driver you suggest and see if it makes a difference.

Updated The driver 91.28 does the same thing as the others i have tried. It crashes out, I have to reset it to 32bit color. Next time it crashes out it only has 4bit color and the drivers are unloaded until i reboot again.

Ok so far the most stable driver I can find is http://www.driverheavendownloads.net...point_0.68.exe

This one crashes out every couple of hours and needs a reboot instead of every 10-20 minutes needing to reboot the computer to get the video back to higher then 4-bit. Any other suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
