dvi / hdmi connection to lcd tv

I have 4069 sumsung lcd tv 120 refresh rate max resolution 1920x1080. I also have nvidia 6800oc vidio card that has vga and dvi outputs. I connected my 17" monitor to vga and my 40" lcd tv to dvi thru dvi/hdmi cable. The pc only ndisplays the matherboard logo and then the harddrive stops booting. WHen I disconnect the lcd tv and load the pc and then connect the lcd tv everything works fine. My question is why does the pc not load when my lcd is connected to the video card.

Yes, but only if the LCD TV is connected. If I connect the pc monitor only thru vga then it load fine.
