Pissed I think my 8800GT is dying...

My graphics card might just be starting to fail. May need to RMA. I got a few really minor artifacts yesterday and then today the screen froze while gaming, with a red stripe across the top and an audio loop. Then it re-booted itself. I've checked the temps with fan at auto speed and there is no cooling problem. The fan speed increases as temps goes up and she levels out at 76c. Apart from Crysis or other games is there any way to rigourously stress test a GFX card?

This is older but I have run it in Vista 64bit: rthdribl - Real-Time High Dynamic Range Image-Based Lighting 1.2 - It really stresses the GPU.

You're lucky you have EVGA. Best RMA service I have experienced.

On top of best customer support, too.

I've just ordered a multimeter on-line and gonna check out my PSU when it arrives. The Enermax is quite old now and it runs pretty much 24/7. Plus my system is overclocked. The Noisetaker is a good quality 600W PSU but with capacitor ageing rail output and/or stability may have dropped.

yea, an aging PSU can cause devices to begin a slow failure. hopefully it's just the aging PSU, and it didn't take anything else out.
