ty for opinion!
my last 3 nv cards have been evga. & while what u say is true, im tired of sending my 7950gx2 in, this will be 3rd time & i know there are peeps that have done it a LOT more. wich is y im considering switching. im looking more for opinions on build/performance quality than anything. i know companies have had the normal issue with initial release quality, so guess what i am mostly asking is between evga & bfg wich is least likely to give me problems? i am aware that is a question that is probably impossibel to get a legit answer to, but i am very intersted in opinions

What happened to be the problem?
I know they make sturdy cards, it's just the reappearing problem I keep seeing is crappy stock fans. I sent mine in for that. The fan stopped working after 3 months of being new. Got an entirely new card, and 3 months later it was right on cue. That might just be a problem with their lower end cards, however.

I've had nothing but joy with my EVGA. Only had it 7 or 8 months mind. But no problems whatsoever with performance or quality at all (although I the stock cooler isn't anything to write home about). Oh yeah, apart from a problem with the registration/step-up that was self-inflicted. I emailed EVGA support who checked it out and corrected my mistake efficiently and quickly.

well, EVGA is based here in cali and not Indiana or w/e. so IF in the event an RMA is needed on whoever you decide to go with, if you decide to go with EVGA, total turn around time will be faster with EVGA
.of course, this is presuming that you would do a standard RMA where you would be required to send the card to the the company first. sending you PM mike.... |

Why is it Beeping!?!?!

Personally, I like EVGA better as a company. Although don't get me wrong BFG is a good company as well I just think you get better service from EVGA (more timely i guess it the phrase that I am searching for here).

I always purchase BFG cards, lifetime warranty.. excellent quality, never a single problem with their GPUs.. great product in my opinion that you cant go wrong with. I havent had to RMA any of their cards and Ive had quite a few (5+)

what i don't understand is when people say, "oh, xxxx company has lifetime warranty and i'm going with them because of it" but when they have to RMA a product a couple of times, they freak out and say, "you guys are horrible, i'm going with your competitor."
i mean, what are these people complaining about? if the warranty is the reason why they went with a particular company, then why wouldn't they stick to that company regardless of how many times a product is RMAed? |

I build computers locally with the GTX 260 EVGA and I've had no problems. EVGA is excellent!

got my 280 installed, ran the free copy of vantage evga gives u with card a few times, great perf/iq, np at all!!!
think im really going to like this card a lot! what is cool is that I still got performance in creases coming down the road with more mature driver releases. bty, i know this card was supposed to be big, but my god, it dwarfed my 7950gx2! had to get a little creative with my h20 setup ![]() ive tried nwn2, civ4, & gw(only games im playing right now). perf is way better, & iq is noticably better. have to try someting that actually pushes the card ![]() in a few months i will get a 9800 variant for physx & should be good for awhile... once i get my quad core of the moment in a couple of months. anyway, with my very limited experience, i think this is the best single card solution by far(especially with the continuing price drops). after my experience with the 7950gx2 i wont buy another dual setup again. as i said, will prolly get a card for physx but other than that dont see what i would need another card for. of course i am glad ive got the 90 day stepup in case they come out with that 45 die shrink soon.. or anything else interesting

Don't forget to register straight away or the step-up won't be valid.

my 7950gxt is going out tomorrow for rma. im hopin they have given up on them & will send me someting different.
that aside, i really am happy with evga & their lifetime warranty & trade up prog(i traded my 7900gtx for the gx2). just not thrilled with having to rma this often. i actually shouldnt complain to much, i know there are a lot of owners of the gx2 that have had way more problems than me.

Wouldnt have touched either. XFX all the way. Only one of three companies who actually have their own fabs in far east. Palit make the others. you are just buying a sticker, box art and the warranty.

![]() I agree with the post above. XFX make the finest Nvidia boards. From what I hear they are one of the few who actually DO make them. Most of the other guys just buy them from other fabrication plants. I think you USA guys would be stunned just how many of these cards are actually made by Palit, then are rebadged.

not really, assumed most were rebadged. a big part of my choice has to do with warranty & support.
