Need Help
Hi, I recently just purchased a BFG 7300GT 512MB AGP, I know it isn't that great of a card compared to what is out now.
Here is an image FRYS.com*|*BFG So here is my problem: http://img232.imageshack.us/my.php?i...4127604ui0.pngI've tried other games like CS 1.6 and it runs fine, CS Source runs smooth but has similar problem to that image. I've tried the latest driver fro Nvidia and a few from omegadrivers site. So I was wondering what the problem is exactly. I had a RADEON 2400 HD before, and it ran the game without the problem but wasn't smooth at all. It also would ran CS 1.6 horribly. So I was just wondering if theres something wrong with the 7300GT, I know I can get better cards out there, but can't afford it. |

welcome aboard to DH xlittowillyx!
![]() from the picture you provided, that tells me that your card is severely artifacting and it should be replaced. however, you mention that all of the other games you play work perfectly fine? This tells me that it would perhaps be an issue with just the game listed in the picture, which could perhaps be a game issue or a driver issue. I would advise that you check for both. Check to see if there are any patches/updates for your game and if there are, install them. Then check the driver of the video card and perhaps try a different version other than the latest version. You can get a driver list from NVIDIA's website. Also, CS 1.6 doesn't require a whole lot in terms of resources from your CPU/RAM/Video card. Perhaps the pictured game does and it is placing much more stress on the 7300GT card that would cause it to artifact like you displayed? |

Hey, thanks for the reply
![]() Do you think the card is damaged somehow? Because I had a Radeon 9600 that ran the game without problems, rather than just not running smooth. I think the 7300 GT ran the game with errors but was actually smooth. |

do you have both ATI and Nvidia graphics drivers installed? if so that may be a good part of the problem.

it is likely that it would be a driver conflict between the ATI and NVIDIA drivers if the ATI drivers are still installed. be sure to uninstall these drivers if they are indeed still installed.

Well I believe that I did remove the old drivers, is that the only way to check? |

have you tried CCLEANER
CCleaner - Home give it a go if you haven't and be sure to do the registry cleaner. i would do a clean install of windows and try with only nvidia drivers right from the get go so you can be sure there is no trouble being caused by the ATI software. or you could try http://www.drivercleaner.net/ it is maintained and supported right here at driverheaven http://www.hardwareheaven.com/driver-cleaner-net-support/ i have used it every time i change GPU driver since i found DH and have never had any problems. Good Luck |

you can also try DriverCleaner Pro. The predecessor to DriverCleaner.net. However, DC Pro is no longer supported by the DH makers of the proggy, but it still works
.just be careful with it though. If you choose the wrong driver(s) to clean out, it can also wipe out your MoBo chipset drivers, audio drivers, etc. |

Alright, thx for all the help guys. I'm thinking about returning this video card to get something else. Anyone know a good gaming card around 55ish dollars for simple gaming like CS 1.6, maybe World of Warcraft, and older games? I need one for AGP or PCI slot, I know PCI-Express are better but it is a shame I don't have one.

probably just a DOA card. just swap it out and you should be good. if the same problems happen, then it's something else.
