d'Boss is on a distinguished road
System Specs

Geforce GO 7600 driver for dv9035nr

I HAVE A HEWLETT PACKARD DV9035NR INSTALLED WITH A NVIDIA GEFORCE GO 7600.
This is running on Windows Vista Ultra 32Bit (I tried a copy of Ultra but
couldn't get around the SN registration key and,so,ended up getting a legal
copy!)
I had problems before with the video driver but seems even worse after
I made the clean install with the Vista.Maybe my imagination.I dunno.But...
I have tried the latest updates for the driver.I have tried the NVidia site
(what a waste of time that is!).I have tried the HP Updates and Health Check.
I have been on the HP website and downloaded and installed all relevant
updates, including BIOS,etc.None of the drivers that have been suggested work.
Basically,on startup,it ends up sitting on a blackened screen before I have
to turn off the power and allow it to start in Safe Mode.Once here I have to
role back to the standard VGA card to get into normal running. Not one update
allows the system to start up in normal mode now.
I have been onto various webs that have their own tweaked versions - Omega
Drivers,NBF and ForceWare to name a few.All have been tried methodically, with
each driver being erased with the latest 'Drive Sweeper' followed by the
registry being cleaned with 'CCleaner'.System is closed down, restarted
(allowing the sVGA to come into play) and then a new driver installed to see
if that works. To help with the driver signature I even have 'DSEO12' installed
and set up each time.Nothing seems to work.I have gone through various
drivers starting with those in the 80.0's batches right through to the 181
version.
Basically, what could I be doing wrong? Is there something I am missing on
doing? Is there an incompatibility somewhere? Is it possible that my system
needs a stable driver with its own tweaks?
I don't use the laptop for any gaming.I use it for design work (CorelDraw)
and for watching movies when I get a chance for leisure. So,I don't think
you can say it is being overused, etc.I even have it sit on an Akasa coolmat
to help the fans!
Would be great to hear any ideas, solutions, points in the right direction
with this.In the past, when it has had drivers accepted for a while,it has
been a great machine. Is it possible to replace the card with another if it
comes to it?Sounds desperate but I've spent the last few months trying to
resolve this on mine going through all the forums out there.
Cheerz!
