GeForce 7600 GS, No display

Ok so heres the dilemma, I have a 5200 nvidia already installed, i uninstalled all driver files, boot down, take out that one and put the new one in, and i get no signal from the moniter!

I have tried plugging the moniter into the onboard VGA slot but i still get no picture, so i put the old graphics card back in, and it works perfectly!

I should get the windows loading screen with the moniter plugged into the 7600gs even if all the files are not deleted from the old 5200 right? So i am clueless here.. i also downloaded driver cleaner and wiped out all the nvidia i had on my pc. Also i went to the bio's and its set to recognize agp/onboard.

any help is appreciated!! maybe i have a bad motherboard agp slot?

Re: GeForce 7600 GS, No display

hey there, and welcome aboard to DH! sorry for having overlooked this post!!!

is this card an AGP or a PCI-E version of the card? If it's an AGP card, then by default it will disable the onboard video. if it's a PCI-E card, about 5% of the time, the onboard video will remain prominent and you will need to go into the BIOS and manually set the display option to be AGP.

If this is an AGP card and you're not getting any kind of video, make sure that the card is properly seated into the AGP slot. Also, check to see if this 7600 card has an auxiliary power connector. If it does, then make sure it's plugged in. Otherwise it is likely to cause what you are experiencing.

Re: GeForce 7600 GS, No display

You know.....I have had a TON of issues with my 8600GT and driver versions getting the monitor to display. I think the new physx drivers really royally messed up some things. Reverting back to some drivers from 10/08 helped me with MY problem at least
