Most definitely not. Even a 9600GT isn't as good as a G92 8800GTS.

Ya, my buddy bought 2 9600 GTOC's, and i told him NOT to go with the lower budget 9 series. 8800's would have been allot better. BUT, with a 9 series card you will have DX10.

Lowfat is right the 9600GT is pretty much equivalent to the 8800GT as for the 8800GTS it's a different ballgame.

You might want to forget the 9400GT and pay 40 bucks or so more to advance to the next level.

An 8800GTS is several times faster than a 9400GT. At that price range, your best bet for value for $ in terms of performance is probably the ATI 4650/4670.

Or the 9600GSO, which you can overclock very well. You can also buy the XXX version of XFX, which is already clocked decent. It's then often faster than a 9600GT...
