Re: nVIDIA.....Which one??
w/the amount of detail listed in terms of what resolution and stuff, i'd say at least an 8800GT. but, a 9800GT is the same thing and much easier to find new.

Re: nVIDIA.....Which one??
Depends. If your gaming to resolutions up to 1440x900 a 9600gt/9800gt( about 10-20% faster) will cover you . you will be able to play those games maxed out with the exception of cryisis ( you have to settle in high instead of very high). Actually those 2 cards will allow you to play most games at 1680x1050 naxed out

Re: nVIDIA.....Which one??
if u could get your hands on 8800gts then that will prolly be the best at lower resolution. I've noticed some places doing them for clearance, but they sell too fast for me to pick one up.

Re: nVIDIA.....Which one??
GTS 250 or up... GTX series for very high details in Crysis. The other games won't be a problem with this ones

Re: nVIDIA.....Which one??
9600GT minimum I'd say. If you can get an 8800GT/GTS, get it instead as it has 2x more stream processors (meaning better performance), but ONLY if it's cheaper than a 9800GT. If the 9800GT is cheaper, get it because it is the same chip, just smaller, and with higher clock rate. After that it's the GTS250, which by design is simply just a rebranded 9800GTX+, and that beats every other card mentioned.
U.S. price wise you can usually get a 9600GT for about $80-95, a 9800GT for about $95-120, and up from that the GTS250 would cost you about $130-150. The price differences depend on manufacturer, rebates, and clock rates (such as reference clocks vs superclocked or OC'd versions of cards). |
