9600 GSO 512, DOA or something else?

I just got an EVGA 9600 GSO, the 9600 GT with half the shaders, but I'm having an issue. I have the lowest 3dmark06 score of everyone who has submitted a 9600 GSO 512.

I've currenly got a 5400 (next lowest system has 8400), which is only 100 points more than my x1950pro used to get me. I have a 6400+ running at full speed, and my cpu scores are similar to other systems similar to mine. Before I got this card I had a 9600 GSO from XFX, it was a 768MB one with a g92, but only ddr2 memory running at 400MHz, so it sucked pretty bad. Even that got 5900 points.

I'm using the latest FM approved drivers, and even overclocking everything (from 650/900 to 750/1050) only bumped my score by 25 points. I'm so frustrated! This is my first nvidia card in 4 years, I did a new install of vista sp1, and I don't know any tricks. So if there's anything I should do please let me know!

I have a K9A platinum board with a 580X chipset.

What scores do you get for SM 2.0 and SM 3.0 /HDR?

And by the way: why did you go for that EVGA card? A XFX XXX would be a better deal: 96 SP's, 680 MHz core, DDR3...

Re: 9600 GSO 512, DOA or something else?

The XXX isn't up for sale anymore from reputable sites. The XFX that I returned (g92 with 400MHz ddr2) was an open box for 55 bucks, this EVGA is 60 after rebate.

ORB - Compare that's my compare link.

SM2.0 2261
SM3.0 2065

I updated to the latest beta drivers and my score went up to 5900, also, my Vantage scores seem to be just about right. P3636 without overclocking, P4181 with overclocking. (800x2000x1100 stable!) So possibly it's just an issue with 06?

Edit

Latest results:

Overclocked with 182.50: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=10538381
Stock with 182.47: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=10500446
Overclocked XFX 768MB 182.46: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=10443731

All of these seem really low. I mean we're talking x1950pro / 8800GTS speeds here. And my card scores higher than most 9600GT's in 3dmark Vantage. What's the deal?

EDIT2

Also note that the XFX 768MB only ran in 1280x720. No clue why that is, the card only gave me 1280x720 and 1920x1080 as options for resolutions, and 3dmark defaulted to that.

Look in the BIOS if the card is running at a other PCI-e speed. Maybe 4x or something like that. Also look if your power supply connector is connected (;p)

Can you also test the card in a other system or in a friend's computer?

Power supply is connected, running at 16x, and no, can't test it in another PC :/

Maybe test with 181.22?

I also installed the 182.50 yesterday but I think they aren't so good...
