Red Storm

hi there i got a strange problem with my monitor(mostly on my 9800GTX hence i posted it in nVidia thread):
after a while i start to get flashing(red)pixels allover the screen,at first few of them on the contours of what ever is on the screen transforming it to an outright red storm allover.this happen on the other cards i used(integrated HD3200,MX440)but it stops within few minutes,and on the GTX it only get's worse.monitor is an GNR 19inch flat(old model,forgot insignia,got if from my
brother)my rig currently runs with HD3870 without problems
i have yet another problem with the drivers,anything newer than 178 makes severe lag in benchmarks without fall of fps(i tested the card at work on the machine that was testing GTX295 at the time with none of the above mentioned problems)help anyone

Q6600stock,Gigabyte X38DQ-6,2x1Gb Transcend DDR2-800,320Gb ATA Seagate,320Gb SATA WD,Antec EarthWatts 650,an old server casse,WinXP SP2 if it helps
