With the first few models of two GPU giants' latest lines released, you have to wonder, who has one of the latest bleeding-edge GPUs in their hands?

With the release of the GTX580, Nvidia has released the most powerful single core GPU on the market currently.

For those who have it or are buying it, are you satisfied? impressed? disappointed or ecstatic? For those who want to talk about anything concerning this card, this thread is for you!

I'm considering getting one. the issue for me is the cayman being so close I'd rather wait a little. hasn't that been delayed to mid december?

If I were forced to upgrade I think I would go the nvidia route this round. Neither of the solutions were amazing but the GTX5xx is more attractive to me..

grabbed a gtx 580 from yoyotek the other morning, not too far from me so jus visited them. good so far actually. altering the fan profile a little and it doesn't even hit 70C, and sounds still bearable

As it seems on Amazon the EVGA version has a 2 month shipping time (-_-") I ended up going with the Galaxy w/ AC after market cooling.

Should be here tomorrow (Friday) or Monday. I'll post pics and such, as I'm going to rewire my rig as well (it's a mess in there...)

Looks like it won't be here until Monday, dammit. Going to have to wait till then to do the rewiring/adding in the Xonar card :/

I hate to spam here since I'm not a GTX 580 owner but I'm considering going for the 590 to replace my HD 5970. I'd love to get SLI 580's but that would cost more and likely require replacing my motherboard. Any 590 owners here? Do you get micro stuttering?

There was an interesting Tom's article on micro-stuttering recently. Obviously it's Tom's, so take it with a tablespoon of salt, but it's probably worth a read if you didn't already see it.

You running out of graphics horsepower with the 5970 already?

Ya that's my go to reading on micro stuttering (the only article I know of actually). The 5970 has the power but only 1gb memory it is not able to keep up with high res textures in Crysis 2 or the BF3 beta.

I don't know if i notice micro-stutter or not. At this point the 590s have 1.5GB of vram, don't know if waiting for Kepler is worth it. When is that due? Maybe we'll see 2GB standard by then. Of course BF3 is coming soon, so if you want to be ready, it's 590 or 2 2GB 580s.

I can tell you i like my 590 better than the 5870s i had. GTA4 runs like silk, even though the 5870s had more ram, it stuttered like crazy. Batman AA with PhysX is pretty cool. Most of the games i throw at this card play well.

I'll have to research this MS stuff a little more.
