What is your suggestion?

Ok,

I play Enemy Territory and am starting to get serios in clans and stuff i just recently purchased an ASYLUM Geforce FX 5700 Ultra. I was told by a friend that the GeForce4 Ti 4600 is a much superior card. I have a good line on a price for this card and was wondering if i should return the 5700. Please let me know what I should do i only have $200.

Thanks

Don't listen to him, the 5700 Ultra is a good mid-range card with good Direct X 9 capabilities! There's an excellent review of your card here

System Specs

the fx5700 ultra is the better choice, dx 9 compatible.

the gf4ti4600 are fine but now a little dated compared to some of the new cards out for around the same price if not cheaper.

If you have 200 $ you should go for a radeon 9600 pro/xt if you're looking for performance in future games, just my suggestion

I'd agree if he didn't already have the 5700 Ultra!

yea but the ati and the 5700 are within about 5% of each other performace wise
one noteable diff that ati has pixel shader 2.0+ support not just 1.1 or 1.4 like the 5700

yea but the xt is cheaper and come with the half life collection pack allthe half lifes ( $39.99 reatil @ bestbuy) and a ticket for free half life 2 (a 49.99+ value).

and to quote toms hardware
review when compairing the 5700 ultra and 9600xt sums it all up

Quoted from www.tomshardware.com

Looking at the benchmark results in available games, buyers now have the choice between the FX 5700 Ultra and the Radeon 9600 XT in the mainstream segment. In the standard tests, both cards offer virtually identical performance. With FSAA and anisotropic enabled, however, the ATi card shines.

IMO:add the free software and the 9600xt is a much better deal...

bu freak accident i got my 9600xt for $39 after all the free games I got.
