Which card's TV-Out is best? Radeon or Nvidia???

I'm really going nuts!!

I have to buy a new videocard. The Tv-out of my old card doesn't work anymore.

But now I have to choose a card and I can't decide which one. I'm hearing all kind of stuff, but everybody says something else.

I have reduced the cards I want to these two:

Radeon 9600 XT
Geforce FX5900 XT

Of course I would like to have the 9800 pro, but I don't have the money for it.

Now, I've read the test on driverheaven, I've read the big VGA test on Tomshardware and if you look at the results you would say: buy the 5900XT, altough the Radeon is also very good.

But my problem is that I want to have a card with the best TV-Out. And that's nowhere in those test. Yes, driver heaven says that the 2D is better for the Radeons, but it's not so convincing for me.

So, there it is. What do you guys think? Which card should I buy? I'm not a game addict, but I like a game now and then, but my main purpose for the card is Tv-Out.

hi, welcome to the forums. I have to say, that this is not my personal field of knowledge but I frequently get alot of emails from people which I forward to ATI regarding issues with ATI and TV out.

I used to have a leadtek Nvidia 4600 and the TV out was amazing. hopefully other members can offer more input into this.

One thing is for sure, the best overall image quality goes for ATI, also is cheaper than the 5900 and will manage perfectly your eventual gaming moments..So go for the ATI

I have, a friend of mine showed me a really nice benchmark:

So, I've heard enough that Ati is the best for Tv-Out and now it's even better for dx9 games, so my choice was made, but thanks anyway. Now I'm sure I made the right choice

http://www.viperlair.com/reviews/vid...00pro/p2.shtml and http://www.viperlair.com/reviews/vid...00xt/pg2.shtml

See the image qualtiy for tv-out between matrox/nvidia/ati? Ati is by far the worse with gf4mx even beating aiw's.

If u want tv-out, stick with nvidia..

I have a Geforce FX 5200 PCI and the TV out is crisp and clear. It serves my every purpose. I would personally get an ATI card for gaming performance.
