Will it be enough dispite Nvidia's actions this past year or so? Like I told someone else claiming ownage by the R420, we will have to wait and see to know for sure. Speculation from Inquirer will do nothing to convince me.

Hmm. From what I've read the nv40 does deliver with the 16 pipeline but I've also read that Nvidia have gone and made another jump to far again. In the same way that their card needed special handling when it came to game code, it's also going to need special handling for PCI-E because of their bridge chip. There counting on yet more 'nvidia' coding.
So ATI has a AGP card as well as a PCI-E card which will be fully supported whereas the Nvidia card will be AGP/PCI-E but the PCI-E side of things looks hazey... I'm really interested in what the final scores will say, long long way away yet though. |

I remember all too well the fx hype. Which went so very badly. Nvidia may be 16x1 to ATi's 8x2, but like you say theres more to it.
Personally i couldnt care less who has the faster card, as long as it comes out soon, and i can spend my hard earned folding for a few extra fps
