I recently bought a Geforce4 Ti4200 128mb with VIVO from Inno3d, and happily instaled it im my computer (was replacing a Geforce 2 GTS). The problem is, the video out does not work most of the time, in spite of I having tried many different driver versions out to check if that was the problem. I have the same problem with the video in, but less often. My previous video board, a Geforce2 GTS never had any video out problems.
The card also ended up being a mediocre RAM overclocker. The Samsung 40 ns RAM, rated to max out at 500mhz, is stable at 472 mhz tops. Even at the factory settings, the computer freezes after some time (around 1 hour) of gameplay. I managed to find in a FAQ at the Inno3d site that sometimes older boards don't suplly enough power to the AGP slot to feed todays power hungry cards (namely Geforce4s) properly. Could this be it? Is anyone having the same kind of problems? My mainboard is an ABIT KT7-raid, with the VIA KT133 chipset. My CPU is a 1.1 ghz TB Athlon, plus 256 mb of crucial 133 ram, a SBlive! 5.1 and a realtek network card. My power supply is supposed to be a 450 watts one (no name brand). All the drivers are the most current, I use Win2k professional (just reinstalled) SP3 and my mainboard has the latest bios abit provided, a9. I've already contacted Inno3d tech support and got even more puzzled with their answer: "Please use S-video cable for the Video out... Or you can try this.. Cut out the right top pin (Pin 4 of Svideo header) in the Svideo-RCA cable.." So, tech support is actually asking me to modify one of the supplied cables. Unfornately, my TV doesn't have a S-video in (although it has composite). Well can anyone find me a way of getting my video in and out working properly, or has the same kind of problems? Thanks in advance! |

check your voltage settings in your bios and make sure they are within 5% of what they should be.
as for your vivo question, what do you mean by "it works sometimes"? does it come up in black and white? does it show any image on your tv at all? |

The voltage is the standard one, 3.3V. I did turn it up a little to see if it worked, but nothing happened.

The VIVO works like this: Sometimes the nview panel detects that there is a TV connected to the board. Than I try to set it to work, but most of the time it just stopd detecting the TV again. It eventually detects the TV and displays something on the TV screen, but rarely. Most of the times it simply doesn't detect that there's a TV connected to the video out.

sounds like it could be a driver issue. uninstall the drivers for your card, disconnect your tv, reinstall, then reconnect. if that doesn't work, you may have to format.
it also sounds like a faulty svideo to composite adaptor cable, or a bad composite cable. the composite cable you can get pretty much anywhere, but the svideo to composite adaptor will be hard to find. you may want to have inno3d send you another cable, or even another card just to make sure. if there still is a problem, it is your tv. ![]() sorry to have you go through all that crap, but it's better than not having it at all. i had that problem once and it took months to figure out that the drivers wouldn't load correctly when the video in or out is connected. |
