XFX 6600 GT Prob

When I checked the core and memory speed it say the core is runing a 300mhz in the 3d performance. This cards core should be runing at 500mhz. So Itried the Detect Optimal Frequencies Button. and It came back with core 561 and mem 1.12. I was wondering if it safe to use these settings. also why it showed up at core 300mhz to start with anybody eles notice this.

Yeah I have heard some of the XFX cards do that as far as the Detect Optimal Frequencies I dont trust that damn thing but it gives you a base to work from I would start at 500/1000 and work your way up

I actually use the detect optimal frequencies on my XFX 6800GT and it seems to work pretty well. I'm sure i could go past what it detects, but I'm happy at 389/1.07

Hi I got my board today and it is working great with my setup, bu I am not sure if it is running properly as I got a somewhat low score in 3dmark2001. (10500, which is less than what I got with my old 9700pro AIW, that got destroyed)
how do you check if the frequency really is 500 in 3d applications?

It shows up that way because it is not the 3D clock settings at 300mhz. The 561 core you are showing is the 3D settings. The card underclocks itself to save the processor and reduce heat when not in use for 3D apps. It is perfectly normal for it to show these frequencies.
