recommended canadian store

If you're Greater Toronto Area, there's only one store to shop at: Canada Computers.

http://www.canadacomputers.com

They do ship I believe, but they've taken their online mailorder application offline. You'll have to call a store and have them take your VISA over the phone I guess.

Alternatives I've used in the GTa are Infonec.ca and Logic Computer House, although both are only secondary choices.

That Asus card is not a full GT. It's half GT, half 6800NU. Look for a real GT from Gainward, BFG, etc. A full GT should have a core with 16pipes @ 350MHz and 256MB GDDR3 ram @ 1000MHz.

It seems the onmes with 128mb of ram are @ 700MHz opposed to the ones with 256mb of ram which are @ 1000

Ex:

eVGA e-Geforce 6800 128MB w/ DVI, TV-Out
Specifications::Graphics Engine: Nvidia Geforce 6800
Video Memory: 128MB DDR
Engine Clock: 325MHz
Memory Clock: 700MHz(350MHz DDR)
Memory Interface: 256-bit 2.8ns (4x32) DDR
RAMDAC: 400MHz
Bus Standard: AGP8X/4X/2X
TV-Out: S-Video
DVI: DVI-I
VGA: 15-pin D-Sub

eVGA e-Geforce 6800 GT 256MB GDDR3 w/ DVI, TV-Out
Specifications:Graphics Engine: Nvidia Geforce 6800GT
Video Memory: 256MB DDR3
Engine Clock: 350MHz
Memory Clock: 1000MHz(500MHz DDR)
Memory Interface: 256-bit 2ns (8x32) DDR3
RAMDAC: 400MHz
Bus Standard: AGP8X/4X/2X
TV-Out: S-Video
DVI: DVI-I
VGA: Yes

I'd get the one with 256 memory "if" I had that much money to blow on a videocard which I dont at the time...

the 6800NU ram is at 700MHz, the GT is at 1000MHz. do you see what I mean about the "half breed" Asus GT? Is the Asus GT the same price as the 6800NU? If so, then it's a good deal. Otherwise, the BFG or PNY 6800NUs are decent.
