New! Warcraft 3 bug, screen goes blank when useing a geforce 4, Fixed !!!!

If your useing a geforce 4 card and the screen goes blank after bizzard movie on fresh intall and/or when the game starts even after the 1.4 patch read on...

I found the problem the game tries to auto detect start up in 1024 x 768 X 32 by defualt and sets the refresh ends up something like 56x 70 hz .... I had to plug in a old funky 15' monitor and reboot to get it to come up... I set the resolution to 600x800x32 and it works fine now!!! for some reason if your running a 17' monitor or like me thats older and can't handle that refresh or that resolution you get a blank screen... the funny thing is blizzard it say i must be a problem with you software or hardware drivers or mabe that you don't meet the specs.. thier clueless about this problem i think...

So you could fix your problm that way or if you know you monitors refresh rates right click my desktop, goto settings, advanced, geforce 4 tab , gto performance , direct x , refresh rates and set them there...

I scoured the web and couln't find but people haveing the same problems and no real solutions I figured it out and I wanting to spread the word figued this would be the best place...

Hope this helps some of you pulling your hair out over this one.....(like i was for about 5 hours)

Hey Neon, And yes i know this is a 6 year old bump but your the only thing on the net I could find on the subject. Well I set my refresh rate from 60hertz to 59hertz and it still goes black and I hear the DUN! sound.
