Hallo!

Hello,

I am probably going to buy the a BFG Geforce 6200oc PCI with 256Mb DDR. I currently have a Geforce 5700LE 128Mb (PCI). I have my video card core overclocked from 225mhz to 400mhz (Stable).

Playing Counter-Strike: Source I achieve about 15-50 FPS.

CS:S Settings:
Resolution - 1024x768
Anti-alias - 2x
Model Detail - High
Texture Detail - High
Shading - High
Shadow - High
Anisotropic - Trilinear

With World Of Warcraft I get about 15 FPS on full high settings.
For Doom III, I get about 15 FPS with Medium Settings.

Once I get this video card and compare between my 5700 and the 6200. I shall post my discoveries! Muauauaua!!!

I want to upgrade for several reasons. It has better and newer hardware accelerated functionalities. For instance: PureVideo, Shader Model 3.0 (Packed With Great Technologies), and UltraShadow II. I'm not sure how much better the video card is going to run, because the PCI bus is limited compared to PCI-e, and AGP buses.

Here is a chart comparing Shader Model 2.0 and 3.0: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/winhec...30_nvidia.mspx
Here is the specs on the 5700LE I have: http://db.jaton.com/VGAProductDetail...4248KL-T128MA0
Here are two links to information about the BFG 6200oc: http://www.bfgtech.com/5500OC_pci.html http://www.chumbo.com/Info.aspx?id=322418

Computer Specifications:

2.2Ghz Pentium 4
1Gb 333DDR
Geforce Fx 5700LE PCI 128Mb (Janton)

I hope to post soon, have a nice day/night!!!

Headsup

Just an update for people with this problem (GeForce 6200 PCI 128mb)

I installed the latest beta drivers (84.43) and installed DirectX 9c, but still have those white lines.

However i only seem to get mine on the splash screens of applications loading

lets hope the next public release from nvid fixes this problem

I just bought a BFG GeForce 6200 OC 256MB PCI card and should receive it soon. I'll let you all know how it works.

I'm not much of a gamer as it is but I'd like to start checking some of them out a little more. My gf bought me Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and it didn't work with my integrated card so I started studying and settled on this one. I'm not very knowledgeable about computers though I use mine quite a bit. I noticed that when I burn DVDs though the sound eventually doesn't match the video and I'm hoping this will help. Also, I am not inclined to spend the kind of money and time it would take to get a new motherboard, so this seemed like a decent fix.

My computer --- 2.8 gHz P4, 160 GB HD, 1.5 GB RAM, Echo MIA, Soundblaster Live! External 5.1, Logitech X-530 speaker system

Hey all Im new here but seems like a great place, found it searching around for vid card info heheh..... anyways Im gonna be dumping my radeon and be pick'n up THIS 6200 when I can afford it lol...in the meantime Ive come across a few sites, this one included, that probably might interest some 6200 owners. First being the BFG overclocked model which Im not sure is unlockable or not. Also this site http://www.doomedpc.com/?q=node/36 is an excellent FAQ.
Another as well http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35366
Until I upgrade my mobo again Im kinda anxious to pick this card up as its apparently as good as a 6600 Anywooo just figured I'd share, think I might have a couple other articles somewere too. In the meantime Cheers

Well it arrived and I installed it. It's working way better than my integrated of course and I'm still fine tuning it. This is the first video card I've ever gotten and installed so I don't really know what I'm doing. One thing it's doing though is making those little dashes on certain menus the other 6200 did. Don't know if that's from my lack of knowledge or from the card/drivers.

Are there any tutorials out there for learning how to use the software and learning the lingo and whatnot?

Sparky send a emil to nvidia about any problems you have with that card,
they need to know so they can include fixes in there next set of drivers.

Will do simo. I tried opening new pixel pipelines but no go. This card is only 64 bits btw. Also, I know it's overclocked but I tried to push it a little further with coolbits but it doesn't seem to like it too much, so right now it's just at the stock 350/410.

I was working my way up to those. I started with a couple of old games I had sitting around: Deadly Dozen and NBA Live 2003. After setting the resolution correctly it worked much better and had much more clarity. Next I tried Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. I had to lower the detail settings and turn off the anisotropic filtering and some other things but it's working well now, with Shader 3.0. I need to fine tune my computer and the card with this information I obtained. http://www.tweakguides.com/NVFORCE_1.html

Doom 3 is next. I might install it today and I'll let you know how it does. So far though it's working well.

Well sorry a little late on the reply but I lost all on my 80g HD, everything on it due to another sh!t PSU, ah well...anyways dug up that info for you as well as a few opinions. Ive yet to grab my card as Ive just bought a new P42.60c YAaaaaY lol. Well good luck, hope these help you out some more. From what I can tell is if its 6200a its not unlockable, straight 6200 128/128--unlockable, I amybe be wrong..but I may be right lol.

Excellent chiggz. Those links are quite informative and one in particular has a lot of information on overclocking this card.

Still haven't loaded up Doom 3 yet because I've been playing Splinter Cell Chaos Theory so much.

I've been able to OC the memory though and it seems to be stable at 516. So I'm running it at 350/516 and on 3DMark05 I'm only getting a score of around 1200. Not great, but on games so far it's working pretty good.

Hello

The only reason why this BFG 6200 256MB PCI is faster in some games is because of
extra pipeline for shader 3.0
About two months ago I sended e-mail to BFG asking why on earth they did released
and bother with 64-bit video card.
Unfortunately it have been proven that at least 128 or even better 256-bit interface is needed for some serious performance and at least possibly without stutter.
I can understand that there is still a lot of unused stock of Nvidia 6200 64-bit processor chips that they want to sell but why for PCI bus ?
PCI bus video card is hungry for any extra processing power and 64-bit was used before and it was dissapointing. (like 64-bit turbocache )
Comparison of my three cards is :

BFG 5500 OC 256MB PCI bus 128-bit: was running OK

3D Fuzion 6200 128MB PCI bus 64-bit : I say this one is worse over BFG 5500
(128MB of memory and 64-bit is not enough,
wasted money because I wanted to try it )

BFG 6200 OC 256MB PCI bus 64-bit: winner (256MB of memory makes a huge
difference in video memory hungry
games like IL-2 Forgotten Battles or
Pacific Fighters)

3D Mark 2001SE: BFG 5500 OC 300Mhz/420Mhz = 6684
BFG 6200 OC 350Mhz/500Mhz = 6552

3D Mark 2003 : BFG 5500 = 1539
BFG 6200 = 2288

3D Mark 2005 : BFG 5500 = 310
BFG 6200 = 1233 ( still a quite difference )

System: XP HOME service 2 / P4 2.00Ghz , 1GB of Ram

Well I don't expect Nvidia 6200 to run like 7900 model but if 6200 model with shader 3.0 was at least 128-bit it could really have amazing performance considering is a PCI bus !!!!
Using shader 3.0 on PCI bus 64-bit is a nonsense to me, even as is clocked at 350Mhz
64-bit is a unneeded slowdown over at least 128-bit .
Only this extra shader on 6200 over 5500 is making it faster and in latest games
Playing mostly IL-2 Forgotten Battles merged with Pacific Fighters there was no gain for me in performance over my previous 5500 card. (6200 can't handle shader 3.0)

I know only one PCI bus video card that is running at amazing 256-bit processing and
it should be older Pine Technology GeForce RX 5200 256MB 256-bit PCI bus !!!
I for once would love to know how this card was performing at the time of a FX 5200 era.

How do you think the 3D Fuzion 6200 128MB PCI bus 64-bit
would perform up against a 5200 128mb?

And I wonder how the 3DFuzion stacks up against the BFG 6200 in 3Dmark05.

To update I've installed Doom 3 and I'm getting about 30 fps at almost full settings. This card aint gonna impress the compu-nerds but it's working fine for me on the games I want to play while I save up for a new mobo with PCI Express, providing I can find one with a 478 socket.

Hi simo98088

3D Fuzion 6200 128MB PCI bus 64-bit still should be easily faster in latest games even thou 128MB is not that much considering latest trend and 64-bit stink

With older games where 3D Fuzion 6200 can't take full advantage of shader power FX 5200 may run better if it is 128-bit version. ( FX 5200 are good for overclocking )
Those with FX 5200 64-bit version should definitely consider upgrade to BFG 6200 256MB
because just from benchmarks viewpoint it will run like a rocket !!!!

There is really no reason anymore to buy 3D Fuzion 6200 128MB when BFG released 6200 with 256MB of memory that can be overclocked without any problem from original stock of
410Mhz to 500Mhz or even 515Mhz memory stable clock
With 3d Fuzion there is nothing you can do about overclocking stock 350Mhz/400Mhz.
I got my 3D Fuzion about a month before BFG released their 256MB version

As for now I'm running my BFG 6200 256MB PCI bus at 350Mhz/500Mhz like a charm.

To answer question about performance of 3D Fuzion 6200 against BFG 6200 here you go:

3DMark05:

BFG 5500 OC 256MB 128-bit 300Mhz/420Mhz = 310 driver 81.95
3D Fuzion 6200 128MB 64-bit 350Mhz/400Mhz = 544 driver 81.95
BFG 6200 OC 256MB 64-bit 350Mhz/500Mhz = 1233 driver 84.43

I don't know why I couldn't get more from 3D Fuzion ( 544 points ) but this huge gap
between 3D Fuzion and BFG is probably for sure more memory and overclock of BFG card.
I had also a lot of " Nv4_displ.dll Infinite Loop error" with 3D Fuzion card.

If anyone is experiencing this error a lot of times this may help you :http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=4432&st=0

Hello Sparky6string

Thank you , I'm happen to be just one of those who is trying to delay a new gaming computer purchase for at least another year. ( waiting for" Battle of Britain" flying simulator to be released sometimes 2007 by UbiSoft & 1C Maddox games, so It's still unknown what hardware and processor power is needed for this to run smoothly ).

It may be hard to believe, but over period of last four years I upgraded as following:
Originally: Intel (R) 82845G/GL Graphics Controller (able to play next to nothing)

Next: Visiontek Xtasy 9200 256MB PCI bus 128-bit / 240Mhz/400Mhz/ Direct X9
compatible

: BFG FX 5500 OC 256MB PCI bus 128-bit / 300Mhz/420Mhz/ Direct X9 with
Vertex Shader 2.0 and Pixel Shader 2.0 (overclocked by me and stable)

: 3D Fuzion 6200 128MB PCI bus 64-bit / 350Mhz/400Mhz/ Direct X9 with
Vertex Shader 3.0 and Pixel Shader 3.0

: BFG 6200 OC 256MB PCI bus 64-bit / 350Mhz/500Mhz/ Direct X9 with
Vertex Shader 3.0 and Pixel Shader 3.0 (overclocked by me and stable)

If anyone need some delay in new computer purchase for whatever reason, then BFG 6200 256MB is the only best PCI bus video card currently on market for a possibly long time before some company will consider (if) again making a new even more poverful model with PCI bus

All benchmark results I posted in here were run on my Compaq Pukesario model: 6330US XP Home P4 2.00Ghz /1GB of RAM and it will for sure differ a little bit on your machine

PS: My apology for grammar

Hi simo98088

This could be worth trying at least :

I believe that BestBuy have international delivery
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1130987962366

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....76&id=cat12098

Also Fry'sOutpost have international shipping but at this moment they don't have BFG 6200 PCI but they may get it soon enough. There is phone number that you can call for availability or if they plan to get it soon.

http://shop1.outpost.com/search?sear...=9&submit.y=13

http://shop1.outpost.com/template/he...B4IntlShipping

At this very moment I don't know any other seller that may be of some help

That's where I bought mine, new. I doubt you'll find any used ones but new probably every now and then.

Yeah , after something like 30 minutes of looking on ebay for Nvidia based video cards I finally found one brend new BFG 6200 256MB PCI bus with four bidders on it and then I gave up looking. There may be probably more of them.
BFG can be purchased on ebay, but there still needs to be some luck and it is very very limited so far at least here on US ebay. I don't know about UK ebay and many other countries.
Not that I needed BFG anymore , just was curious how many are out there.
