Hey CtErick
How are you ? , I will try to put together again some of the basic things that you should go through, to make sure your video card setup is OK , or at least minimize many factors that can make it error 1. Sometimes you can get blue screen error ( Nv4_disp.dll Infinite Loop ) and just rebooting system will keep you without this error for a little while If It's more severe, this thread could probably help you , because is not video card problem rather video driver and a lot of guys had this error from time to time with even newer Nvidia series cards. http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=4432&st=0 2. Try to use always WHQL driver, unfortunately beta drivers couldn't go with my Windows Media Player for playing videos ( freeze ). Also you can stay away at least for a little bit longer from latest FW 91.31 driver with new panel because even though they stamped it with WHQL certified they seems to have job to do. Nvidia WHQL driver from EVGA is 84.56 ( smooth like a charm and no problem that is released by EVGA and is WHQL approved )http://www.evga.com/support/drivers/default.asp 3. Try to fix Windows Media Player freeze with this , it may be helpful : Go to Nvidia settings , sellect and click Color Correction option Apply color change to: make sure that is selected as "ALL" and "ALL channels" and apply those changes then exit. 4. Go in to System Information option and look in to assigned IRQ number by making sure that it should NOT share same number with other device. XP machine will automaticaly assign IRQ number ( mine is IRQ21 for example ). If something happen and video card will share IRQ number with something else like whatever it is, then you should uninstall driver, turning "OFF" computer starting all over again but trying new another PCI slot to get IRQ number without sharing it with something else. Quick summary : 1. Is your card sharing IRQ with any other device ? 2. Are you using driver cleaner between each and new driver install ? 3. What did you selected in BIOS configuration for primary video acceleration ? 4. Is the Intel Graphics still showing up in Device Manager ? 5. Were you able to uninstall Intel Graphics driver and if not did you disabled Intel Graphics in Device Mnager ? 6. If default NVIDIA settings Color correction are set to Desktop, can you try to change to "all" ,this may help you with a lot of freezing and blue screen errors, just try it. 7. Last chance ,you can always try going to Control panel > Administrative Tools > Services > NVIDIA driver service and double click select disable , apply then go to START > RUN > type in msconfig then select Startup and uncheck " NvCpl " also " nwiz " and " NvMcTray " click apply and reboot machine. These last options should help prevent driver from freezing and crashing games. It's very tricky to find out what is messing up system configuration . PS: Do you have originally onboard Intel Extreme Graphics ? |

Hi CtErick
Congratulation ! , if you have only game screenshot problem . There are few among us that have been unable to install their 3D Fuzion 6200 at all. I was lucky when I used mine a little while ago "Driver cleaner pro" is free and is very helpful to make sure there is no leftover from previous uninstall. If you're interested you can download Driver Cleaner Pro here : http://www.drivercleaner.net/ Every time you uninstall ForceWare Nvidia video driver open Driver Cleaner Pro application and sellect " Nvidia " only, and it will get rid of any left older FW Nvidia driver files. It's your IRQs # 22 only assigned to 3D Fuzion video card ? Here is mine for example Resource Share Device Description: IRQ # 00 System timer IRQ # 01 Compaq Easy Access PS2 Internet Keyboard IRQ # 04 Communications Port (COM1) IRQ # 06 Standard floppy disk controller IRQ # 08 System CMOS/real time clock IRQ # 12 PS/2 Compatible Mouse IRQ # 13 Numeric data processor IRQ # 14 Primary IDE Channel IRQ # 15 Secondary IDE Channel IRQ # 16 Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller - 24C2 IRQ # 17 Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC IRQ # 18 Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller - 24C7 IRQ # 19 Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller - 24C4 IRQ # 21 NVIDIA GeForce 6200 IRQ # 22 Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System IRQ # 23 Creative SB Audigy 2 (WDM) IRQ # 23 Intel PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller Well , there was nothing I could do about my Audigy 2 sound card , it's sharing IRQs # 23 with Intel PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller Video card is more important to me , not sharing IRQs with anything else to avoid errors . From my 3 PCI slots: Upper slot, closest to CPU processor is my BFG 6200 PCI bus card Middle slot is empty Bottom slot is Audigy 2 sound card. Lastly , what video driver you should use ? It's more about middle ground, which is good performance and less driver errors. Try as many as you want as long as you're not getting constantly video driver errors and freezes with 3D Fuzion 6200 PCI bus card. 3D Fuzion is veeeeeeeery sensitive That's trueHappy gaming CtErick

This card is the best pci card out there. I thought me and my dell 2400 were lost but then i found this forum. The bfg 6200 left the 5500 IN THE DUST!! I was amazed i could get almost all high on bloodmoney!! I have one problem thought, you cant update the driver!?! When i first install i play with the stock driver and then installed the z-tweaked 91.28. I have always used z-tweaked drivers with the 5500 with no problem. But next thing i know my pc is freezing up artifacts are appearing and video clips wouldnt play!!!! Then i went to the nividia site and tryed there still the same problem. Why does this happen, even though the 6200 is good i would like to be able to update the driver!!!

Hello killazebra
Don't even bother with tweaked FW drivers like z-tweaked and a lot of others. BFG 6200 is not going well with those. I tried many of them, resulting always in some freezes and computer lock-up Best of all for error free performance especially playing video and movies are Nvidia WHQL certified FW drivers. I had even problems with the latest WHQL new panel 91.31 with freezes and lock-ups. I'm using the latest one just before the release of 91.31 which is 84.57 WHQL released by Evga company and is running without a hitch Another problem with those tweaked drivers was with leftover driver files after unistall. Some of the files even driver cleaner utility didn't picked up and I had to remove them manually. I also switched from BFG FX 5500 OC 256 MB PCI bus card to the BFG 6200 and just the card alone makes a big diference in performance and believe me, that tweaked driver won't make that much diference against WHQL driver with BFG 6200 card , plus with tweaked drivers you will have a lot of errors. Yeah , my FX 5500 did take a lot of tweaked drivers without a problem but 6200 won't. It's your choice. All the time blue screen of death, freezes and computer lock-ups are not worth of extra maybe few more FPS. |

A. Correct the dots/lines/artifact problem in program splash screens? AND B. Play videos correctly? 84.21 plays videos but I get the artifacts in splash screens. Newer drivers do not fix the artifacts AND they break video playback Nice work NVIDIA!

Help Please!
Hello all.
Just surfed on in via Google. I recently bought the BFG GeForce 6200 OC 256MB PCI card. I'm getting the blue screen of death with the infinite loop error while playing Civ 4. I've gone through this entire thread and done just about everything. But nothing is working; I still get the error message, though it takes a lot longer for the blue screen to pop up. Just to run down what I've done. 1 - Used all the various drivers I've found on the site, one at a time, in the order I found them. Cleaned the drivers off with Drive Cleaner each time. I don't crash immediately anymore, it takes an hour now. 2 - Checked to see if the IRQ's were aligned right. They weren't. I ended up switching the PCI slots of my ethernet card and the 6200. Problem solved, but it didn't help. 3 - Got a new power source. Upgraded from 250W to 350W. It didn't help. 4 - Updated the BIOS of my motherboard using the new BIOS on Dell's website. It didn't do anything, but I'm not sure what it was supposed to do. Any other ideas? The blue screen of death takes a while to come up now, a little over an hour, but it's appearance is still inevitable. I'd like to get rid of it completely if possible. Here is my system: ---------------------- - Dell Dimension 3000 - Pentium III Celeron 2.4 GHz - 1 GB SDRAM - Intel 865GV motherboard (Springdale) - 3 PCI slots (one for the 6200, one for an ancient Soundblaster card, and one for my eithernet) - 2 Hard drives (master = 40 GB, slave = 10 GB) - 1 CDRW - 1 normal CD drive - 1 partridge in a pear tree Anyhelp would be MOST appreciated. Thanks, Don. P.S. - this thread is GREAT!!!! |

Hello all
@ merlinly EVGA is no longer hosting 84.57 but only their latest 91.31 I have saved mine 84.57 from EVGA a little while ago in to " My Documents " and I did upload 84.57 to RapidShare Webhosting so I hope it will work OK and you should be able to get it here It's the full size 31.9 MB 84.56 EVGA WHQL released by EVGA. http://rapidshare.de/files/30129379/8456XP2K.exe.html Sorry, I don't know any other file webhosting for free. |

Hello Did you tried or not Nv4_disp.dll Infinite Loop Blue Screen of Death fix ? It may help you. I didn't have to used this fix but for you can be quite life saving http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=4432&st=0 QUOTE from NVIDIA Forums:/ To install it, unzip the file and run the setup.exe Do not run the setup from the compressed folder. So what does it do? It closes the RX55 memory register in BIOS. The RX55 register's official name and function is Memory Write Queue (MWQ) timer. The MWQ timer is actually a timing device included in the memory host controller to prevent write data being held in the memory queue too long. After the data has been in the queue too long it times out. This timed out data is then given a higher write request priority. Now that might sound nice – a bit of extra performance BUT the procedure fails when overloaded. 3D games and Win XP put too much load on the memory queuing timer procedure. The nVidia new driver exaggerates the problem even more as the driver enables nVidia cards to use even more memory than previous driver versions. So in a nutshell it’s a memory timing problem that only happens when the RX55 register is opened. Some motherboard manufacturers have already released new BIOS that have the register closed. In other instances, this patch is needed. and also: dont freek out if you see that your infinite loop is going to happen again...just give it 2-5sec and you will see that your game will GO ON playing without any problem! the patch did his work! if not then something else is going on on your pc. well 2-3second of freeze in an hour of gameplay.. it isnt Really a Problem...when you avoided the RESET isnt it?? END of QUOTE/ Keep up reading buddy, there is some good advices in the link above

I also have a Dell Dimension 2400 and today my FX 5200 burnt up on me so now I need an upgrade and I searched around and found this thread and the 6200 seems the best one out there for just PCI.
I have been doing some searching for places to actually buy this card online but for some reason I cannot actually find it anywhere in England. I see that some of you lot are from England so where did you guys get yours from? |

Hi everyone. so is it a better idea to get a 3Dfuzion 128mb 6200 PCI instead of the BFG Geforce fx 5500 256mb pci card? I just ordered the BFG 5500 and it will be arriving tomorrow. but i noticed that the 6200 128mb is less expensive, and is curious whether that will give me better performance for now, as well as for the long run. i dont have much time to research and don't really understand how to read the benchmarks. Any answer, simple or not, will be gladly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey all-
Still happy with my BFG 6200 PCI. I'm suprised to see that X1300 too. Looks to be faster than the NVidia and it's probably better with video. Cheaper too. I'd like to hear about real time performance of this card. |

and allGood to hear from you again. I'm also very happy with my BFG 6200 PCI. Have been reading various forums , hardware reviews and stores feedback and all I came up with is two completely different sides of rewiews of Visiontek Radeon X1300 256MB PCI video card. 1. Websites which are dealing with hardware previews are very negative , at least a lot of them very much calling this card useless piece of crap that is very expensive. They were also very unhappy with benchmarks performance results, that if it's not running benchmarks close to the speed of latest ATI and Nvidia cards , there is no reason to buy it. Simply, they hate PCI bus. Anything going a little below 40 FPS is for themunplayable ! 2. Forums, that deal with computers parts , hardware in general , stores feedback from customers are very positive, that this card is able to run latest games. Guys are happy being able to run games for them also considering high settings with good FPS. I know how onboard video suck for games so X1300 must be for them completely different world with positively shocking results considering onboard dog slow video processing I just can't speak for myself, I didn't yet touched this X1300 PCI, so I may run all the benchmarks to see for myself where the truth is . As for now I believe that X1300 should be faster and having better video processing than BFG 6200. Last edited by ChampionFx; Sep 18, 2006 at 08:13 PM. |

... Well, I've been following this thread with great interest, since I too have a Dell integrated graphics Pc myself...
... Naturally, I agonized over whether or not I should go with the old reliable 5500, or the 9250... I had all but ruled out the 128mb 6200 because of the seeming 'sensitivities' it appeared to present, and was leaning quite heavily towards purchasing the 256mb 6200 because of our friend Champions' twelve pages of rave reviews -and then he throws this x1300 into the mix for even more fun filled angst to contend with!... ... Well, after all that, I just purchased the 256mb x1300 PCI on ebay ($56 + shipping btw) and am now beginning to have doubts about the wisdom of said purchase... ... Here's MY problem... I have thus far gathered that a sure fire way to tell a PCI card from a PCI express card is that the PCI card seems to have that peculiar open 'gap' at the 'rear' of the cards 'tab' (which perfectly matches the three Pci slots in my mobo) and the PCI express appears to have its open 'gap' at the front... The problem I have just discovered is that this x1300 PCI card has 'two' gaps, one towards the front, as well as another towards the rear... and 'no' this is not an AGP card because another characteristic of the AGP cards is the fact that the 'tabs' are located much further towards the rear of the card itself, whereas the PCI and PCI express cards are much more 'centered' on the cards themselves... ... I guess my question 'is;' if this 'double slotted' PCI card still fits into my 'single slotted' PCI port, will it work, or was this double slotted PCI card designed for a newer double slotted PCI port that I sadly do not possess?... My system is only a year old, btw... Any help with this puzzle would be greatly appreciated, since my new x1300 should be arriving any day now, and I am sure that my seller whould be more than happy to see this work for me as well... Thanks again!... |

Hello LawrenceR
Visiontek Radeon X1300 256 MB PCI 64-bit is going on right now for about close to $ 130,- I don't know who could already sell you PCI bus X1300 card for $56,- but It's hard to believe that it is for PCI bus slot. Stores just recently started selling this card. Also if interested in purchasing X1300 graphic card , we have to be careful because there should suppose to be for sale another X1300 PCI bus card from different company which is running only @ 32-bit !!!!! ![]() We should clearly stay away from those 32-bit if playing some games is main reason for purchase of X1300 card. All you need for X1300 is single empty available 3.3v PCI bus slot that your computer for sure have as is only one year old.Take a closer look at what kind of X1300 you purchased. Extra open gap that you're talking about will make no difference in install, it should pop in without a problem, I'm just surprised that someone would already sell on e-bay $130,- card for only $56,- http://www.visiontek.com/products/ca...300sffpci.html Video Card:VisionTek X1300 256MB PCI $129.99 core speed: 450MHz Memory Speed: 533MHz Memory Type: 256MB DDR-2 Memory Interface: 64Bit 2 Channel DDR2 memory Interface Transistors: 105 million transistors on 90nm fabrication process Pixel Fillrate: 1800 Million Pixel/s Texel Fillrate: 1800 Million Texel/s Memory Bandwidth 4.32GB/s Processer technology: 90nm ------------------------------------------------------------------------ BFG Geforce 6200OC 256MB PCI Price: $156.99 Core speed: 350MHz Memory speed: 410MHz Memory type: 256MB DDR Memory Interface: 64bit 2 Channel DDR memory Interface Pixel Fillrate: 1250 Million Pixel/s Texel Fillrate: 1250 Million Texel/s Memory Bandwidth 3.85GB/s process technology: 130nm Last edited by ChampionFx; Sep 26, 2006 at 01:27 AM. |

I have an X1300PCI, and its about 33% faster than with a 6200 PCI, we did this on techspot, and me and someone had the same processors and RAM, and mine was 33% faster neither overclocked. The X1300 overclocks amaizinly, 7520 3dMarks01 SE.

Hello F1N3ST Yeah , finally some benchmark numbers are out Holy cow !!!! , X1300 beats sh#t out of my BFG 6200 by quite margin in 3DMark2001SE My BFG 6200 = 6652 marks X1300 .........= 7520 marks !!!! It's there any chance , that you can run 3DMark03 ? it's free and is a lot more complex benchmark for texture and shaders procesing , pleeeease or even 3DMark05 ?What X1300 you have ? Visiontek ? I've read post from Visiontek headquarters, that they will try and test possibly 128-bit model because of a crying public about only dinosaur era 64-bit model. Will see what's going to happen next ! There is clearly still big demand for PCI bus video cards and BFG is probably already working on GeForce 7xxx PCI bus series card to get back to the first place in PCI bus cards. Competition

I have the Visiontek, i bought it 3 days after it came out :P, and i actually did run 3dmark03 , but from your scores in '01, i can tell that you have a superior processor,i have a Celeron D 2.8ghz. But i got 2471 on 3dmark03, http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic51437-6.html theres a link to the techspot topic, where i also reviewed a 5500FX, overclocked to the extreme.

Hey F1N3ST
Thanks a lot for review , good read All those information are very valuable in decision making for the future card purchase that others may consider. I'm running Pentium P4 @ 2.00GHz ( not that much ) My 3DMark03 is quite closer with BFG 6200 score of 2228 marks to the 2471 marks with X1300. Now I'm wondering if X1300 is running much better for older games (3DMark01SE) but as we run more modern benchmarks BFG 6200 and Visiontek X1300 are maybe getting a little bit closer to each other. All we need now is running X1300 with 3DMark05 to see how much of a difference is there as I have no idea what results will came up . My BFG 6200 were able to pull out 1233 marks with 3DMark05 Thanks for reply

I'm having a really good day
,Thanks F1N3ST for running 3DMark05 , the score of 1521 is rockin' and better than BFG 6200 I thought from beginning, since release of Visiontek Radeon X1300 that it should leave BFG 6200 in the dust I just didn't know by how much. Now that we have some benchmarks out , there is no doubt that we're still moving forward with development of more powerful PCI bus video cards speed. Yeah baby All I'm gonna do is waiting for a month or two, for possible 128-bit version if it ever came out as I believe that Visiontek or BFG will make one. Thanks again for the benchmark numbers! @ Killazebra We may get a treat soon as BFG is for sure not happy with their rival X1300 release. Stay tuned , we're about to have more fun LONG LIVE PCI BUS THREAD !!!!! Last edited by ChampionFx; Sep 28, 2006 at 01:05 AM. |

Im building a PCI-e X16 computer, with a X1900GT 256-bit memory, that will leave like 3 of these cards combined in the dust
. So now i have a home for my 5500FX too, as i have a pentium 3 now lol, i just got this old computer without a hard drive, pretty sweet for a old gaming computer, plays old games at highest resolution without a video card.

![]() Diamod has now released a Diamond Viper - ATI Radeon X1300 PCI 256MB, and the memory interface is 128bit ![]() ![]() ![]() http://www.diamondmm.com/X1300PCI256.php Hopefully it will fit in my Thinkpad dock 2631 for my x31, and give my laptop quite a boost. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I only have a 16MB Radeon graphic card in it now...And the price seems to be quite low as well, currently 110$ at newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814103016 I live in Norway so I'll probably have to wait some time until it arrives here ![]() Probably I'll have to order it form a european webshop, since the best card available in Norway is the 5200 ![]() But for you guys in the States.... By now.... Last edited by Fredondo; Oct 10, 2006 at 12:56 AM. |
