NVIDIA and Dell Bring Quad SLI Power to Life
"Today at the Consumer Electronics Show, Michael Dell unveiled a new project that he and the gang at NVIDIA have teamed up on that until right this minute, no one had heard a peep about in the industry. NVIDIA is introducing a new video card with TWO 7800 GTX 512 GPUs on it with two PCBs. Oh, and these new cards will sport 1 GB of total memory as well." -PCPER "Here are the specs on what a system that is powered by TWO of these SLI cards holds: 1.3 billion transistors, 96 pixel pipes (24 x 4) and 2 GB of memory (512 x 4) is freaking out of this world! " -PCPER This is a BEAST!!

Er had a laugh in another Forum about this one.
They painted the case with that Flamejob so when that Heating Element of a CPU lights up you won't notice

what are your best guesses at a price?
mine: $10,000.00 US It's cool and all, but come on, its REALLY overkill. Probably sounds like a chainsaw and cost $40.00 a day in energy costs. For that price, you could build a $2000.00 system for every new generation of cards for the next 5 generations, and each system will probably run better than the Dell. |

Too bad they can't supply a kickass CPU with that system.

wow looks supriseinglysimulr to the 9700 pro with 4 X 9700 cores
can you image the psu required????? 4X 150W = 600W so I think what 1000W should do it

if it didn't leak, it must not have been on an Asus platform

LOL this is funniest thing ever. Today, two cards (GTX's) in SLI or 1800XT's in crossfire have no match for their perfomance in terms of the CPU. No processor right now can outrun those babies, the cpu is always the bottleneck. Now, because of that the quad sli is useless. Yes, 3dmark06 will take an adwantage of that because it is only dependant on the videocard and not anything else (yes, it is a fact now, no more oc'ing your ram and cpu and getting higher scores.) But so what, you wont see any perfomance increase in games. Yes you can run at say 32x aa and 32x af but does that make a vidual difference at 1024 ? No it doesnt. Only at killer resolutions like 1600 and above. So whats the big deal here? As far as the price vs perfomance ratio here, it's a big fat waste for rich boys whos parents buy them 20 000 dollar computers.

board tweaked for stabilty (not performance) along with OEM STD quailty memory with a PSU that barely pases muster yea I'd think it wouldn't be all that hot as it "could be" Anyways for gameing right now the X2's seem to have it

I don't think that psu will be a big deal. the other dual gpu options have an external power brick. i would imagine that Dell would have a similar setup for their option. either an additional aux psu internally or an external power brick.
