USB charger fried my PSP?
I wasn't sure where to ask this, so I stuck in here.
Anyhow, a few days ago, I lost my PSP charger so instead of dumping 40$ in a new wall charger, I opted for a more convenient 10$ USB charger/data cable combo. I gave it a whirl and it charged up no problem, however, the next day I was unable to get the PSP to charge up again. The PSP just doesn't pick up the cable as plugged in the charger, however it does pick up the data cable and data transfers work fine through the USB port. Could the USB charger have blown out my charger port, or do you think the cable died? o0 And I don't have a multimeter available to test. Any ideas? Could a USB powered charger "overpower" the port? The voltage should be fine and it should only draw the ammount of amps it needs, right? |

it CAN fry the port but you'd most probably notice... Something would show! I honestly think it's just the cable and I hope it IS that because otherwise...

I spent the extra cash and got the extended warranty from Best Buy because there was so many dead pixels issues. Anyhow, I guess I'll have to shell out an extra 40$ and see.
