Withdrawing from Videogames

I remember there was a post a while ago where someone said they felt like video games are losin their edge or what makes them awsome.

I don't know if this is the same thing but for some reason, the more problams I have in my personal life the less I play or even care to play. When I'm happy I play a lot but when I'm sad and bored out of my mind I can't use it anymore to escape my boredem.

I think I need some nature or something, need to go hiking get lost, almost die, and have a vision.

Phases it seems, suddenly a new one comes along and hits you at the right time and blam hooked for however long it takes to defeat it. Change is good though and a break helps to make you feel alive. The almost die thing is overclocking a bit too extremely though! Just my opinion.

well, I'm not goin to try and almost die cause actually that happened a lot when I was child (I don't like water) but I need something to knock me out of my slump I'm in.

Wish my friends would actually do things but sadly they are always busy.

I think it has to do with more problems with my ex, I'm goin to tlak to he ra final time and give her three choices, and based on what she decides I can continue.

It's raining here, too. Just started up a little bit ago.

As for problems: I don't dwell on them. Life's too short to get hung up on things that are beyond my control.

latly ive noticed ive really started looseing intrest in games. part of it is though that almost every damn game is the same, and i never buy new games because again, there almost all the same.

but on the upside of this, ive actually started replaying all my old games that i havnt played in years. absolutly love them again.

Having visions while out in 'nature' having a adventure is a pretty good sign your brain has had to much sun or haven't had not enough water. Like people that walk across sand deserts seeing mirages and drink sand.
While I find this interesting, I don't think it's a smart thing to do. While I love nature and how it works, games are like asprin to a headache, some times it can relieve stress or it can make it worse, I find just laying on the ground and staring up at the sky and looking at drifting clouds and thinking about different things helps me.
Games are mostly just to be played 2 or 3 hours when you feel like it not 60 hours and hope you pass the next level before you die. I sometimes take a game to serious and play harder, but that is the wrong thing to do, if you can't get past a certain level or keep getting sniped by the enemy AI, just leave it alone for a couple days or weeks and go take your kids to the park and play catch or some other hobby. Games in general need better storylines and more humor mixed in with the seriousness. Games these days are mostly going towards looks instead of great gameplay. Some games have great gameplay while having a bad storyline. Games with bad storylines could be really fun. Just depends on what you like and how your use to playing games.

I've done that on top of my house, only prob is that right now its raining and when I look up and can only see sky, things start spinning, fast.

Didn't that happen in a video game

As someone that plays a ton of game and gets bored by em easily my only suggestion is to switch your preferences. I see you are a BF2 and SF player thats a game that gets boring quickly so playing RTS (like warhammer, Star wars, LOTR:BFME, C&C) and adventure games (Prince of Persia, Indigo Prophecy) is always a good change of pace.

eh, I have the RTS games, but they are too easy, cause its just strategy. Puzzle games are fun, but not for PC and I donated my console and TV to the recruiting station

I was quite bored with computer games last year until I picked up an Xbox 360, and now finally we have ghost recon, which is such an awesome game. you need to pick it up and stop the self indulgence and analysing yourself. just have a little fun
