Ac/dc

For those of you that listen or have listened to the band, what albums do you deem as worthy of a listen? I've only heard a handful of songs, including Back in Black and Hell's Bells. I'm definitely hooked

i never was a great fan of ac/dc - only a few songs I liked, two of which you mentioned. I thought their albums overall were poor (and I have all of them via a previous girlfriend).

I agree with Zardon. For me, albums in general were poor - IMO much, much better live.

Haven't owned any of their records for over twenty years now. But still walk down the road singing 'Whole Lotta Rosie' which is basically heavy blues with lyrics that make me laugh. (It's about a rather large lady). I think it was on album 'Let There be Rock'.

Zappa still rules for best live shows that I've seen. And believe it or not, Barry Manilow comes in equal second entertainment-wise live (I was a steward for Manilow show - never bought ticket) with Santana who are awesome live and on vinyl.

I don't have any of their albums, I did pick up the "Family Jewels" DVD set for about $20 though. 40 songs with video, and I ripped them to ogg for normal listening.

Oh man, they're pretty awesome, although many of their more recent albums are lackluster. For a new listener Duane, go for back in black and highway to hell first. If you dig those, dive into dirty deeds done dirt cheap, high voltage, and let there be rock. That family jewels dvd kicks too.

highly over rated from an album standpoint.

"Back in Black" and "For Those About to Rock" might as well be combined into a double disc "greatest hits" album, cuz the rest kinda suck

lots of music here man..

Powerage...

(saw them live years ago before they lost Bon Scott at a club, ah the magic of the times...)

If you want blood you got it.. driving music really

Back in Black. An anthem from my youth...

For those about to Rock..... we used this song in our Battleship video..and synched the stage pyro with the 16 inch broadsides...quite a site, got a visit from Angus in Sydney during a port call. There was magic once...maybe its gone, but I have fond memories of strippers in clubs dancing to AC/CD and cleaning my wallet out..LOL....

If you like some old studio stuff that is older than Matuzala...get Who made who...worth a listen and cheap, you can find it anywhere...

I remember want to sing like Bon Scott as a young man...LOL...

I mean can you deny these lyrics?

DIRTY DEEDS DONE DIRT CHEAP
(Young - Young - Scott)

If you're havin' trouble with the high school head
He's givin' you the blues
You wanna graduate but not in his bed
Here's what you gotta do
Pick up the phone, I'm always home
Call me any time
Just ring 36 24 36 hey
I lead a life of crime

Dirty deeds, done dirt cheap
Dirty deeds, done dirt cheap
Dirty deeds, done dirt cheap
(Dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap)
(Dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap)

You got problems in your life of love
You got a broken heart
He's double dealin' with your best friend
That's when the teardrops star fella
Pick up the phone, I'm here alone
Or make a social call
Come right in, forget 'bout him
We'll have ourselves a ball hey

Dirty deeds, done dirt cheap
Dirty deeds, done dirt cheap
Dirty deeds, done dirt cheap
(Dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap)
(Dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap)
Yeahhh

If you got a lady and you want her gone
But you ain't got the guts
She keeps naggin' at you night and day
Enough to drive you nuts
Pick up the phone, leave her alone
It's time you made a stand
For a fee, I'm happy to be
Your back door man hey

Dirty deeds, done dirt cheap
Dirty deeds, done dirt cheap
Dirty deeds, done dirt cheap
(Dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap) yeah
(Dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap)
(Dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap)
(Dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap)

Concrete shoes, cyanide, TNT
(Done dirt cheap)
Neck ties, contracts, high voltage
(Done dirt cheap)

Dirty deeds, done dirt cheap
Dirty deeds, done dirt cheap
Dirty deeds, do anything you want me to
Done dirt cheap
Dirty deeds, dirty deeds, dirty deeds,
Done dirt cheap, ahhhhh
