Monsoon MH-505

Anyone with this puppy?
Are they any good?

Does it lack bass sound as some users say?

Without digital input, what am I missing?

I am looking for not too expensive 5.1 speaker set for my PC.

Any opinion would be appreciated.

Thanks

The Altec Lansing select251 system can be picked up for around 100 dollars. You may be able to find it for less money. They have good sound quality, and are capable of getting loud. However, if they are pushed hard... They do tend to crack under the weight. However, if you are not into ear shattering volumes... They are probably the speaker set for you. Good luck with whatever you choose

Some complained about rear speaker cable being short making it almost unable to go around you.
I heard it sounds pretty good alright.

Anyone else?

If you're looking for "not too expensive" speakers for cheap, you should get the Logitech Z640s. good speakers. I haven't had any experience with the monsoon speakers though.

these cost 67 dollars at newegg.com and logitech even has a 20 dollar rebate, so it ends up costing just 47 bucks!

I have a set of MH-505's and am quite happy with them.

Earlier tonight I was watching the Matrix near full blast and the neighbors called the cops.

Now, granted, my neighbors are old and cranky.... But they're also a bit deaf.

It's quite clear and crisp... I don't know if I'd say it's enough so to be incredible, but it is notable.

There's no lack of bass at all, now that it's configured correctly. In fact, when I first set it up, I thought the bass was too heavy, too much.
