quick gf card question

what's a suitable alternative to an X800GTO 128mb (pci-e)

nv 7300's seem way slower (64 bit!?!), and 7600's seem way more expensive, and an hour of reading hasn't helped much

need to order one today, so.... help please

Overclocks nicely. Got it for $174 after rebates at Newegg, and the rebate is still there. I can run FEAR, Doom 3, Battlefield 2, Oblivion, and all those games nicely at Maximum settings

I'd highly recommend it. If you're into flashing, this card has had SOME successes in flashing it to an X1800XL. I wouldn't recommend flashing it though, since not everybody has had success.

You really should go x1800gto or 7600gt as an alternative, plus their performance is better, and you get shader model 3/hdr.

x1800's and 7600gt's are all £140 ++

I'm talking around £55 for an 800gto, just to go into a budget system, not looking for a gaming comp or anything.

just wondered at that kinda price whether there was an alternative I should be looking at.

Honestly wife has a x800 pro and still loves it. For the cost i would say go with the gto as i doubt you will find better for the cost.

She runs CoD2, HL2, Oblivion, and many others very well. Sure they are not with HDR and all that but it does not sound liek you need it.

I just phoned in my order, couldn't find anything close to as fast for the same money.

only complaint, OCUk taking £10 postage for a single gf card, and would only guarantee delivery for next tuesday

god damn rip off merchants
