ive got mice in my vette all the time. i cant seem to find where the hell they keep getting in at.

getting rid of them is easl, just put a live trap down and bait it with a cracker that has peanut butter on it. i can do that every day, and every morning ill have a mouse or 2 in the trap with out fail.

Dark I'm going to try that... I am using glue traps with a dab of peanut butter in the center..... And so fare no luck... I'm not sure if it's gone or not... Sigh... The dealer is so going to pay for a cleaning.

if you do try the live trap, make sure you put something under it, or your going to have mouse crap and cracker crumbs all over in that area.

dark lord, more than likely coming up from the bottom of the engine, then through the air conditioning vents. They get into our boat sometimes, mostly squirrels, so we use mothballs wrapped up in a sock and tied it off somewhere. Problem solved for us. (just dont put the mothballs inside your car, smells like ass)

no ac in the vette, so nothing to deal with there. ive looked over the firewall pretty well and dont see a way in. ive plugged up 2 of the astro vents that go directly out side, and ive closed up the vents in the kick panels, so theres no way through there.

the rear deck flaps are down, but theres no way then can climb up the side of the vette and get through the 1/4 in. gaps in the vents back there.

im really quite confused as to where they can be comeing in from because i cant see any holes going to the outside. they may be comeing through the heater core, but i very highly doubt it.

of course the best anti mouse trap i have is to just start driveing the car. theyll go away shortly after that.

mice and rats can fit their entire body through any opening that their head can fit through. so DL, if that 1/4in. gap you mentioned is large enough for their head, it's large enough for their body.

Well CD's that sucks. Then I would guess it's small mice that are getting in then. But do mice really care that much to get inside a car?? lol animals are so retarted.

i some how very much doubt that they can scale the side of the corvette. theres not a single anlge that they can grip onto.

especialy now that ive waxed it with teflon. those bastards are gonna go slideing across the hood if they could some how get up there.

O man dark lord. I just bought a clay bar today and WOW it makes a difference. I have used it before on my uncles cobra R mustang but it's always nice and clean. When I used it on my street car it was just amazing. I washed it good then clayed and then waxed it.

The only thing I forgot was the polish. So tomorrow if I do the next car I am going to:
1.wash
2.clay
3.polish
4.wax

The max I can do for my car!

This is what it looks like after I got it done with one of the cars. It a bit compressed and looks better in person but you still get an idea!

Look you can see my mustang off the paint!

ive actually contemplated claying my vette. im hopeing it does something for the small spiderweb cracks in the paint. right now, i just try and wax it enough so the glare from the shine covers up the cracks.

@ DL: they coud use the tiries to get up. it's the only part of the car that actually touches the ground you know . unless you have hydraulics or air bags on the car and have it slammed to the ground when it's parked (which i highly doubt ). and from there, they can make their way into any part of the car that they can reach.

@ custom: that is a nice job you did . but the question is, how does the paint feel? that is something we cannot feel over the internet.

oh, and on my 8, when i waxed it, i used McGuiars 3 step car wax job dealy thingy . cleaner, polish, clearcoat. the clearcoat i liked because it has a faint hint of banana aroma to it

the cleaner strips off any old wax coat that still may be on the paint, as well as any dirt deposits that washing alone does not pick up.

the polish, does just that....polishes the paint

the clearcoat, gives the paint a really nice polish as well as fill in any nooks and crannies

Ok update on my car

Yesterday I got some new brakes put on my car! I got Brembo rotors and Cobra breaks put on. My uncle helped me do it and my god they make a difference!

Also does anyone know much and how hard it is to replace a Throw out bearing? I think mine is going and I am thinking about replacing it.

the throw out bearing should have been replaced when the dealer fixed your tranny. it's something that is usually done simeltaneously. the TOB is replaced at the same time a clutch is replaced, unless either the TOB is fairly new (10k miles or less i would say), or there is not enough money to replace it at the time the time the clutch was replaced. other than that, the TOB should be replaced at the same time the clutch is replaced.

Yes I agree with you BUT he did it for free. I think he just replaced the clutch and thats it. I am not even positive thats the problem but from what I have read it seems to be.

did he give you an itemized list of what he replaced? if not, ask him for one.

then that way you can go get your TOB and do it yourself, or take it somewhere to get it done.
