Well i have a few things to say, most of these european cars you are comparing to american cars about ride quality, keep this in mind... the european cars are alot more expensive, so you would atleast expect it to be better, right?
cars like the corvette are made more performance orientated and kept at a lower price so its open to more people, kind of like the mustang

Well like many others I think we need to get a spot to talk about cars! There seems to be enough topics all the time about cars and I think adding one would be a good idea! what do you think?

Well then what should I compare it to? I mean, they ARE cars...
I dunno what else to compare the Vette against cept it's competitors which are porsche, bms and all... Any other similar sports cars!

yea, you can compare the vette to those other cars in terms of performance. if you want to compare them in terms of ride comfort, you don't compare the vette to those cars

Only girls and old men care about ride quality in a sports car- because they don't but a sports car for handling and power, but for show.
Sports cars are for sport, handling, etc.. if you want ride quality, don't buy a sports car.

exactly.
corvette, sports car first and foremost. everything else is a distant second. BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, luxury first, sports second. if you were to compare cars, you would be alot better off compareing a Lotus Elise to the corvette. atleast with the vette the rear window isnt made out of chicken wire and carpet is a standard option.

The Porsche is FASTER (thus sportier?) and has better ride comfort... Same goes for a M3, AMG Merc, any aston, Koennnniguszzed, Ferrari, etc... They are all great sports car and wipe the floor when it comes to the track

ahem.... PRICE MOTHER FUCKER
if im paying 3x as much for a damn ferrari then a corvette, i sure as hell better have a smooth as glass ride and more power then i know what to do with. and no... faster does not equal sportier. going by that logic, a top fuel dragster would be one of the sportiest cars ever made. one last thing to add to that. "A sports car can be described as a car whose dominant design consideration is driving performance. A sports car's main emphasis is on performance by superior road holding, braking, maneuverability, low weight and power rather than reliability, comfort, passenger space, economy, and other more luxurious accutrements. Sports cars are considered less extreme than race cars or exotic cars but more capable than sedans and other vehicles."

Also ride quality means nothing when it comes to value of a sports car.. Hell I want a harsh ride if I buy a sports car.. that means more feel.. more information traveling through the frame into my buttoxal area.

. if i can't feel it, then how could i have been able to react to it? I was able to feel every dip, bump, rock, crack, twig, bug my car went over! gave me a better sense of how the car was reacting to what it was going over on the ground. gosh, i miss that feeling .

I had one car that was like that- it was my old 86' Shelby Charger turbo.. that thing rode like a freaking tank, but I could feel everything.. and the faster it went, the smoother it got. I won't be complete until I own another turbo car..

same with my corvette. the manual steering is an ever bigger bonus because all the feedback from the wheels comes right back up that steering column and into my hands.
i will admit though i could use some better seats in that car. nothing like haveing metal coils bounceing around and trying to work there way up your ass.

And price may be an issue but I know many cheap and fast cars with great riding and performance. And before, the performance is not only in a straight line but alos around bends... Meh I give up against you guys because I very well know you won't change your mind. I've been in many cars in my life and simply hate the corvette because if offers me nothing of what I want. I don't really care for the looks, hate the drive and quality and handling. Power is good, but I'd jump anyday for a good less powerful car instead of a vette. Go ahead, bash Euro boxes all you want... I don't mind! I mean, the vette is a good car for all the poor guys who can barely buy a car and end up spending all their money to fuel the thing. And honestly though, the one question nobody answers me is: If the vette is as good as you guys make it out to be as you defend it, why does nobody outside of the US and Canada buy them? ![]() Meh, don't answer... Being called a motherf***er nicely shows the tone of this thread. I'll leave it open if it stays nice and quiet but no more insulting otherwise it'll have to go like the last car thread that CDs stopped. |

Seriously though, the thing is, you say it isn't a good sports car, and then you say "it's nothing I want".. Well maybe you don't want a true raw sports car- that's fine, but just because you don't like it doesn't mean it is not a good sports car. Actually it is the best in the world, dollar for dollar.. I guarantee you no poor people own the new Z06. It may be much less expensive than those luxo-sporty-"ish" coupes, but it is not cheap by any means.
