im pretty sure i figured it out the first day i had the vette. i was stuck in stop/go traffic when school got out. i was still getting used to getting the car moveing from a dead stop and screwed up some where along the way. all the sudden i realise that the clutch is still slightly in and im creeping forward with my other foot off the gas.

speaking of mustangs.....i found a red '95 mustang gt around the corner from my house for sale. the guy is asking 7k for it, but imna see if i can bring him down a bit on the price.

it's been fixed up, exhaust, headers, gear ratio, wheels, etc. all engine still. he says everything is stock. only downer is the amount of miles....175k =\. imna see what i can pull off, check out the car, and see if it's still in good enough condition to make it worth buying

Well it sounds like a nice car but that price is WAY WAY over the top. I know he did some special things to it but 175 miles is a lot... And you have to think maybe he's selling it for a reason.. Maybe the tranny is going or many something else. I would test drive it for a while becasue you even think about it.

My guess is that he should drop the price to like 4500.

I just did a quick KBB of a privite party value and with out knowing anything more than the miles and it's a GT at least in my zip code they are only saying 3,260 in good condition. Now I guess you can pay him more for what he did to the car but all I am trying to get at is that it's WAY over priced. So maybe you can work him down a little bit.

that's stupidly high...if he brought it to our lot we'd give him, no joke, $1250 or so for it trade in.

175K is a ton....especially if it's the original tranny.

95 is old enough that no bank will finance it [and any that will will go to about 18-20% interest]

I'd pass....anything over 100K should be < $5000....be it a porsche or a mustang

i understand what you guys mean about the high amount of miles and all. but ATM, something like that is what i can afford. i looked at kbb's website, and for my zip code, the car was valued at $4,500. With everything he has on it, i'll see if i can get him down to about $5,500. even though i know that putting on any extra mods on the car doesn't do anything for the value, and if anything, it actually lowers it.

@ PJ: you'd give the guy $1,250 but for how much would you be selling it for?

7500 bucks for a Ford with 175K miles on it? Holy crap the guy is insane- delusional even.

I wouldn't buy it for 2 grand.. 175K miles on a Ford is like 110 years on a person... won't be long before they are pushing up daisies.

you're funny . not 7.5k, it's 7k! lol....even that is high i know . i'm not even ready to buy a car yet, i was just calling for information. and he does state OBO, so if i don't have 7k, we can still talk . i bet the guy really wants about 5k for the car, but is saying 7k because he knows that they will talk him down on it. I'm actually looking to get a 2000 vr6 5spd MT Jetta, but looking around, the cheapest one i've found so far is about $8,500 =\. The most expensive 10.5k. that's a bit more than i want to spend. i want to keep my budget at or below 5 grand

well, i did start a that one thread about it a while back, if anybody else remembers about it. it's been about 6 weeks or so since anybody has posted in it, if anybody wants to bring it back up to the top.
