pop the clutch

rev it up to about 2500 RPM [on a mustang...more/less depending on the car...you'll find "the sweet spot" after a few tries] with the clutch pushed down and the car in first, then quickly let off ["pop"] the clutch and you should get some rubber off the tires.....On the v6 mustang you may have to try closer to 3000 RPM, not sure.

In a manual you can also burn out in reverse, but I HIGHLY reccomend against it...also, only burn out on your private property...it's "wreckless endangerment", "destruction of private/public property", "intention to race", as well as "distrubing the peace" if you do it on the road or in front of Wal Mart or something like that

if you have enough low end power, you can start creeping the car and then floor the gas. itll lay down a nice patch that way too.

yea...that's probably limited to a V8 though, although my experience in V6's is limited largely to imports, which have no torque, just piles of HP [honda, toyota, and nissan]

oh...and no pictures this week...mom took the camera to missouri with her

Ok well whenever you get a chance I would like to see the car

Also maybe I will have to try it a little bit once or twice to see if I can get any smoke!

Thats a cool car! That link for that car I think is a bit over priced... You can buy a brand new 06 for low 20's. I know it has very low miles and it's a v8 but it just seems kind of high to me.

it's about right....a new v8 is 26,300 with cloth, stick, and NO options [AM/FM clock radio and no air conditioning]...most final out after packages [power, cd, a/c, leather, etc] between 28 and 30 grand....

so 19 is spot on, if nto a little cheap....we sell them regularly for 22-23 grand, actually...lots of people hate the new body style and want a low mileage mustang still

O well I guess I am a fanboy of the new body style. I just could not afford one so I bought a 2000. And I do love it but my dream would have been to have a new one! And yes I forgot to add in the extras in that car.. My bad lol

the new body style is ok....i think the ride stance and seats are more comfortable in our body style though

plus, the mach audio system is loads better then the new shaker ones

....perhaps the onyl real complaint though, is that the new body style has a HUGE blindspot [1/3 of a car atleast] by the passenger side rear quarter panel.....you just flat out can't see it...but then, so did the 60's model mustangs the styling is lifted from, so it's to be expected

here's what my boss drives, btw [we sell them too...god i want one]

THATS HOT!

Well my Mach audio sounds ok but there is a problem that really only happens when you crank the sound when you have a CD in. Something is rattling so much that it sounds like a blown speaker. But I know it's not. It sounds like it's coming from the passenger's glove box or around it.. I did not really look into the problem but it's driving me nuts lol. Do you have any ideas?

all we have around here are stage 1 roushes. even saw a roush F150, which was a little odd looking.

oh and blind spots mean nothing to me. i cant see anything in most directions in my vette. rear window is almost impossible to see out of, passenger side you cant see anything out of, except for directly out the passenger window, and various areas in the front end you cant see.

right now, i'm still driving the mom-mo-bile around until i get me my own set of wheels again. i'm thinking of getting a '99-'01 jetta. i would really like the vr6, but it would have to be in a MT configuration. i found one today, but it was auto. at the same lot that had the one vr6 there were also 3 other 4cyl (non-turbo) model jettas. Though, i'm thinking it would best for me to get a 4cyl. model only for the savings in gas prices. but i also want the power behind a v6 engine and a manual tranny to do what i want it to do!

the cheapest of them all goes for $8,300 and the most expensive one goes for $12,500 It's around what i'm looking to spend for my next car. i would prefer to buy something cash outright, but ATM, it doesn't look like it's going to happen, so payments of $200/mo. or less would have to do. But ATM, i can't even do payments either. i've started working and all, but it's only for the summer. as soon as the summer is over, i won't have a job again . this job i have for the summer is to just basically pay off some of my debts as much as possible, and hopefully save up some money as well.

Why don't you just fix the engine of your 8 and drive it as is

Well just trying to help lol I am 50% sure you would not want to do that but if it worked for not that much mony it might be something you could do. lol

ummm.....because it's not the engine that needs reparing, it's the whole car!

don't know if you remember, but i kinda crashed my 8, and it is now totalled. basically, it costs too damn much to repair, than the actual cash value of the car itself.

oh, and my insurance did go up.....a whole 3 dollars .

Well thats what I mean how ever the car looks is how you should drive it. The engine can't be in that bad of shape... Even if you are missing a door.. not sure if thats legal or not.

doesnt matter about the looks of the car, his title is marked "totaled" the car, no matter how much time, work, or money goes into it, can ever be insured and driven on the road again.

actually it can. but what happens, is that the title of the car goes to "salvaged". which basically means, the car at one point was totalled and somebody fixed it enough to drive it again.

as of right now, my car sits at a "car graveyard" until one of two things hapens

1. somebody will buy my car from the company that currently has it in its yard, and will
a. fix the car - this will give the car a "salvaged" title and will be worth crap if the owner decides to sell it at a later point in time.
b. use the car for it's parts that are still worthy of taking (like my custom interior , and airbags)

2. my car will sit there long enough to the point where the car will be sent to a scrap yard and be made into scrap metal. the scrap metal will then be sold to another company so it can be recycled into other materials to make a building or whatnot.

yea, tell me about it. there's been so many different things and places i've been wanting to go to, but i can't because i'm not allowed to take my mom's car everywhere anytime i'd like to. i used to be able to do that back when i had my 8, but i can't anymore.

and you know....last night i realized that in a few more days, it'll have been a month since i've crashed my car. it happened on the 9th of may.

i really would like the jetta. especially more so now that i sat down in it. it was really nice on the inside; despite it having been beat up a bit from its previous owner(s), but that is to be expected in a used car anyways.

finaly orderd a couple of parts for my vette tonight. nothing major, just a couple of needed anti rattle strips for the gas tank, and gas tank straps. next up is ordering the carb rebuild kit, buying some paint to paint both the engine and valve covers, dropping the gas tank and determining which one it is (theres 2 diffrent tanks for 1969) and then ordering the new tank.

also some place in there i still need to buy a hurst shifter and an amp. after all thats in, put the rest of the dash back in, a set of 4 ultra bight halogen head lamps, and the car will be done.

with all the time and repairs that have gone into this thing, the next thing to break will be so major that the car goes away until i can do a complete restromod.

na, the tires are only a couple of years old.

as for the paint, i need a ton of body work done first. im not going to bother with it till the real restoration.

I don't think that is entirely true.
I believe it could be repaired and retitled- no matter what an insurance company adjuster said. Salvage titles exist - I know that.

If you have a 1000 dollar car and it gets "totaled because the damage cost 2000 to fix, then someone takes it and fixes it, it can be titled, insured, and driven. I don't know off hand the exact way it works, but I know it is done every day.

EDIT- I was reading the bottom of the page before this (I view 100 posts per page)... So I see CD's already answered that.
