My new car :) :(

Well everyone last week I got a new/ used car! It's a 2000 white manual Mustang! It's a great car BUT having some major problems with it and it's turning into the Mustang from HELL.

To start out after we bought it and drove it home and never noticed it in the test drive was a wierd clicking in 2nd gear. Turns out it was a tranny that was in the works of being broken. So we got that repaired and the dealer who sold it stood behind his car and fixed it for free!

Got the car back and in perfect working order until I tried to bring it into work today. As I was getting off the express way I went down the off ramp and could not get it in first gear. I was the first car in line with my flashers on trying my hardest to pop it into first gear with no luck. After about 3 minutes and 3 lights later it poped into first gear got it about 20 feet into the intersection and then BAM blew out no movement. So that really pissed me off not because the car is dead it's because I was stuck in a big intersection with cars everywhere.

I was happy it did not get any worse and a guy came out of his truck and pushed me to the side of the road and I stayed in and made sure we did not hit anything lol.

So now it's back in the repair shop... Tomorrow I will see what the damage is...

What a crappy day. All I want is a day that I can enjoy the car with out a problem!

P.S.Lets see if this picture works.

Well the engine so far is GREAT! It's really well I don't know the general term for it but the tranny and clutch are just pissing me off. I hope after this next fix everything should be in working order! But who knows.

ouch...sounds like the dealer is atleast honest.

Hope it turns out ok....what kinda miles are on it?

36 month/36,000 miles complete and 60 month/60,000 miles powertrain [tranny] is standard Ford warranty, if either applies, btw

How about 1 year 20,000 miles or something like that.... Thats what the dealer gave us. At least the new tranny came with a 1 year warranty

I drove a stang in frisco and it was an absolute gas, just an all around ass kicking automobile that gave the bimmer fags a real challenge..LOL..
It was so nice to just blow right past Buffy Biff and Megan and Tad with eagerness and a thundering exhaust.
yeah, I drove the shit out of that car and when I returned it back to corporate I am sure it needed some work...
I would never...................................ever...... ..under any circumstances.......pick up a previously owned Mustang without mechanical expertise....and I will gladly pay for it.
My own father is a mechanic and told me years ago not to buy a sports car used unless I like paper cuts and salt in my wounds, because a Stang will nickel and dime you to death!!!!
having said that....God it felt good to punch the gas and humiliate those German car owners..LOL

Well for me it can't get any better about the bad problems I am having. The dealer I bought the car from first fixed my tranny and then I found out today what happened last night and that was my clutch blew apart. The good thing about it is that once again the dealer is going to pick up the two towes. One from the break down to a repair shop and another towe to the dealer. He also was willing to fix an oxygen sensor that turned the check engine light for free. Now the car is in almost perfect condition. I was just shocked that the dealer who is just a corner shop with a small lot was doing this much for this car. If I ever need another used car I would love to go back there!

I forgot to say that he is going to fix the clutch for free also so I hope that is the last of the problems becasue the rest of the car seems to be fine and in perfect working order!

if your tranny, and then the clutch went out...I'd make 100% sure that nothing drivetrain wise has been altered....such as a replacement tranny/bigger motor

unless you truely cant drive a stick and kept dropping the clutch at every light. even then i would think it would last longer then 2 days....

I will go along those lines. When I first got the car it started making a wierd noise in second gear and found out a tooth was hitting another one and over time would have lead to a break down. So after I got that fixed the day after my clutch blew so either they did not install it right or it was it's time to go... Because my driving is not perfect but it's not that bad.

Oh hey, it's a nice car, sorry that I hadn't got time to check it out earlier, I wouldn't mind driving that thing -anywhere-.

Nice car man, tough trials you go through with things in life bind you to that thing/person so don't be sore for too long k, just enjoy it, I'm happy that you keep a straight face and happy attitude. It's all that matters in life. Like Markius' sig says,

nice car man, but through my experience... generally camaros, firebirds and mustangs that were previously owned got beaten to hell by the owners, i mean come on who buys them to baby them around?

i babied my 8. most of the time. it was through windy mountains roads that i pushed my car to it's limits.....and that's the reason i have no 8 anymore .

but once that mustang is back up in 100% order, you'll be doing the same thing in a straight line .

Well you guys are right. But whats wierd is that problems only happened once we bought the car and got it home. Also the Carfax report says it's a perfect car. And from looking at the car from the outside you would say it's a brand new car if they did not redo the design.

And with most cars not even sports cars most people trade them in when there is something wrong with them. So I guess you can say I got one of those cars and there is not to much I can do about it.

Oh come on, a 8 whips a stang any day... Actually if you got BBC2, a very interesting car show today tests a Lotus Exige with a 1.5l engine vs a normal Stang.... I really wonder who'll win (on a track)

i think we already know the outcome of this race, lol

normal stang... as in a v6? =/ either way the exige will probbaly win.

rx8s are cool cars none the less, just not my cup of tea, they handle great but they lack power in my opinion.

don't under estimate the new stangs though, theyre about 1000x better in the handling department then previous years. Its obviously showing this in how they're being so successful in most of the events they participate in, Ford really did a good job on this car, and probably the only type of mustang i would ever own, aside from Cobras and saleens

Only american car I'd ever own would be a Ford GT or Focus ST or Fiesta ST... Apart from those 3, nothing really floats my boat at all.

Eh, when it comes to cars it doesnt really matter the badge or what country it came from, i look at what the car is capable of regardless of who makes it.

Why not the new C6 Z06? that is truely one hell of a car, i personally am more into european cars, but i know alot more about american cars and i tend to be around american cars alot more also, but my next car is probably going to be either a cobra or a m3
