If/when I do work on it, most of it will be internal. A friend is pressuring me into getting a body kit for it, but no...I don't think I will.

well, i'm no japanese car master but... from what i've seen, those bigger exhausts is reallly all they have for aftermarket exhaust, and the real ones are full exhaust not just a muffler/tip.

most of them are 3inch to 3.5inch, anything else is kind of uhhhhhhh.... rice? lol :P

performance > cosmetic :P

yeah, every car i've driven has been manual, only automatic i drove was my dads truck :P

and my friends bmw, but it was SMG so it was still fun .... actually i wouldn't mind have an SMG M3

looks nice . the only thing i'd recommend you do to it is get a good stereo system put in, and get some limo tint in the back windows, and dark tint up front and a 6in. limo tint strip up at the top of the windshield. it'll take a few days getting used to, but man, you'll have all the privacy you'll ever need .

meh, it's all gravy . nobody is taunting me. i'll be getting another car soon anyways. it'll be something much more affordable though, that's for sure .

Don't go overboard with the tinting. In Michigan, a large amount of tinting is illegal and will get you pulled over in a heartbeat.

Its happened to me. I even went so far as to get a prescription for the tinting and they still ticketed me. I had to go to court to fight it. It was honestly a bigger pain in the ass than it was woth.

with that note, stay in the legal perimiters of tinting your windows in your state.

here in cali, all windows except driver, front passenger, and obviously windshield can be as dark as you want.

Yeah definitely get the legal tint all the way around.. I bought a car once that had tint that was too dark and I got pulled over for it.. it was a huge pain. It even passed inspection but I still got pulled over and had to get it taken off and then replaced with the legal stuff. Best thing to do is go right to the local police station and ask them. They will tell you the % of light that needs to get through from the outside. They usually have a gauge there to test it to. In NY the back window and back door windows can be darker, and then the driver and passenger door window had to let 75% light through or something like that..

Most of the window tinting places will know anyway, but I would still go to the cops first and ask them- then go to the tinting place and get it done.

Too bad it isn't a stick shift... it would be more fun to drive.. but all you need is a nice MP3/CD player head unit (Alpine maybe?) - and a small sub in the back and some nice coaxials up front with a little 4 channel amp to run everything.. It will sound great.

you want to have 2 seperate amps. 1 single amp for the sub(s) on a single channel (forces the amp to be dedicated to subs only unless you mickey mouse for more speakers), and then a seperate four channel amp for your component and tweeds.

here is a page on window tinting. just pick your state, and you should be able to go from there .

and another one on window tinting. says basically the same as the first, but this one i feel has a little more detail to the laws and what not.

A lot of those amps are very flexible, they aren't "just" 4 channel amps.. They can by split up-- such as the "rear" two channels combined to run one sub and use the front two channels to drive the front coaxials and then use the head unit to run the rear coaxials for "fill"...

Actually maybe one 6 channel amp would be better if he wants to drive one sub and 4 coaxials. Then use the head unit power for nothing.

Personally I have two 2 channel amps running One sub each in single channel mode, and then I have a 4 channel amp running in 2 channel mode running the front Phoenix gold coaxials.. I don't use the head unit "amp" for anything.

You don't need more than one amp these days, just get one flexible amp to drive everything and save some space. Of course I have installed about 100 systems on my own, so I don't need help from an audio shop..
I am sure they will try to sell you more amps.. I would insist on a single amp system unless you want to go insane and spend lot of money on the system in your car. Just to get some basic, nice sounding tunes though.. one should be enough. I would go for a small enclosure single subwoofer too.. either a dual voice coil or single low ohm voice coil driver.

Most amps now will be flexible enough to run one set of channel sin single mode to run a sub and have high and low pass crossovers built right in..

in GA 32% is the limit...meaning 32% of light must be transmitted....i think the standard for limo tint is 30%, so yea...GA is pretty slack on the tinting

Yeah, I don't know if I'm going to tint or not. It's just not really that high on my priorites, plus, I want the car to look as stock as possible, so it doesn't get attention from cops (I have no problem with cops, but I've caught myself breaking 100 a couple of times on the expressway, so if they're going to look once, I really don't want them to look twice because of tint)

Also, I found a speaker in my trunk that I had no idea was there (don't ask why I was laying in my trunk...ok, it's because i wanted to see if the emergency release worked) and it looked as if the wires had been ripped off by something being shoved in the trunk.

I reconnected the wires and now my mirrors shake. So the bass is great, I just have to do something about the treble breaking up and crackling.

When I test drove one it had a sub in the back on the right side.. It was a stock subwoofer. Is that what you are talking about?

tint shouldn't be that much. the shop i took my 8 to get it's tint done cost me $165 USD for the four windows and the 6in. strip at the top of the windshield

tint depends on the car....an 8 has tiny windows and no sunroof....expect to pay between 2 and 3 hundred for that car

and 2 benjamins should be about all it's worth for the car all the way around (including sun roof)
