A waste of (expectedly) ~$100US. Until Vista SP2 is available anyway.

And The headline IS accurate, just truncated.

'Windows vista makes life Easier... '

'than poking your self in the eye with a pencil.'

'than asking for change for the only $20 you have from a hooker.'

I could go on, but I think my point is made.

Yea, that is funny! On another note. If they keep it up I will make sure to tell everyone I know to just skip Vista altogether. Every bug I submit about things like this get closed as "as intended" meaning that this is the behavior that Microsoft intends for this application.

I submitted bugs for UAC/UAP also and they got closed in a similar manner. What is the purpose of having all this security stuff if:

  1. All user accounts are still created in the Administrators group?
  2. Even administrators get prompted several times to "confirm" what they are doing.
  3. And last, You immediately turn off everything so you won't be annoyed.
Yea, great features....

If you set the user permissions correctly everything works pretty much like it does in xp\2k but really if they make this shit the default behavior i think they're making a terrible mistake. All the prompts and bullshit to protect idiots from themselves that came with sp2 is the main reason I switched to Firefox from IE. The simple password prompt mechanic in linux et al secures just fine and is far less obtrusive.
