How many beers can you take beers can you take?

Since DH has many members around the world, I thought it would be fun to know what is your drinking limits before getting sick or blacking out.

I can go for about 14 Sleeman Cream Ale (5%) or about 8 pints of Guinness with no problem. The next beer or pint could however become deadly, but I know a lot of people can out drink me.

So who is the heavyweight drinker champion?

Well I quit drinking about 6 years ago, but I use to drink about a 12 pack a night. And never missed a day of work because of drinking. Budweiser was my main preference, but sometimes el cheapo won the day .

I mainly quit drinking because it would screw with my ability to play a video game well. That and the fact that my heart was starting beat at insane rates when I drank, so I quit. Just sort of lost my taste for it. Mountain Dew or Barq's Root Beer tastes MUCH better and doesn't impair any abilities. I don't have time for hangovers.

I'm not one of those people that will NEVER drink, I just don't drink to get drunk anymore. It's more of a social thing now. But since I'm sitting in front of my PC most of the time, I don't really have much of a social life, therefore no drinking.

My fix now involves more mundane substances, THC, when I'm in the mood for it.

I'm probably a lightweight now. Four beers would more-than-likely knock me out nowadays.

i know someone who could down 2 cases in a few hours by himself and not throw up or pass out.

i start to feel warm and fuzzy after only 1 beer but i could drink a 12 pack without throwing up or passing out.

Used to drink upto 24 cans of stella artois, or 4 bottles of ruby, sometimes would drink chasers as well, and various drugs on top..it didn't stop me working then or going into uni...but now my body is not working right, wake up most days in agony, & have to take pain killers, sleeping pills, & anti-inflams. I'm only 26! apparantly my kidneys can process spirits ok, but volume fecks em up, if I even drink too much water I'm in agony, now it takes 2-3 beers & I'm hammered...Learnt hardway that my body isn't indestructable! Please be careful what you put away, my friends used to get alchol posioning on these binges & I would drink myself sober they would envy me for my ability to put it away, somehow I don't think they envy me now...

your talking to some one who has never gotten drunk... I gotten a little warm.. But not to where I acted silly or blacked out. I don't drink like a fish tho.... Most I have had at one time was when I was in canada... about 6 Screw drivers, and some wine coolers...

Holy mother f****. 2 cases in a few hours could intoxicate lethally pretty much 95% of the population. Do you still know if this guy is alive and still able to think? (he surely must have a couple of burnt braincells)

Hm, I more the wine type - but I feel good only up to the third bottle... not much of a drinker. I wouldn't know about beer - 5l? Anyway, the beer hangover is one of the worst things on Earth.

Well, at least being completely sober is good in his case. I must say that I would probably have chosen the same thing if I was faced with a jail sentence. But still, I am of the "full-time-studies/work" person therefore alcohol is THE social gathering (except for a couple of odd retro toga parties still going on).

Drinking isn't for everyone

I am not an alcoholic but, when I used to drink, I would wreck my car, lose my job, get married, get divorced, spend money, lose my house and watch Dr. Phil, clearly you can see why I don't drink now, just can't stand his ignorant West Texas accent!!

Smilie

There's nothing that beats a mature Single Malt . Try a 16-year old Lagavulin in company with a nice Cuban or Dominican corona, then there's absolutely no reason to get drunk. If you get drunk on this stuff, prepare for the worst hangover of your life

I used to down quite a bit of the amber nectar of god in my younger days, especially when I lived in Germany and had access to real European beers. My beer of choice was visen or wheat beer with a twist of lemon. About ten was all I could handle, it was extremely filling. We would have drinking contests to see who could down the most before chucking or passing out. I cut my drinking down when I realized I was having to hit the Jack Daniels to get a buzz later on. I wish I had the money I put into the beer and whiskey back in the day now.

well, seeing as how yesterday was my 21st birthday, i put myself to the test...

1 pint michelob
6 7n7's
1 caloua
1 mind mixer
3 shots jack 86

total alchohol:

10 shots 7 crown whiskey (70? 80?)
4 shots bacardi (151)
3 shots jack (86)
and 16 oz beer

didn't throw up but about 2 hours after i stopped drinking, i hit the floor for the night.

Well,

It depends what kind of beer I'm drinking...
I went down to Seattle a few times and my buddies thought I was a conditioned alcoholic because I'd down about 14-18 in an evening before calling it quits. They were done after 10ish.

Then they would come North of the border to visit me and be done after 5 or 6 while I'd be finished after 8-10.

American beer is about 3%/vol. less than Canadian brews.

At least Canada is good for something.
