Food Delivery Questionaire
Questionaire: Food Delivery Questions
(This is prompted due to an issue that is being debated locally. I'd like to get your input and responses, please.) Please copy/paste the following questions and then insert your answers and comments as instructed. I thought about doing a POLL but there are just too many options for answers and I'd likely not get to ask all the right questions. Please restrict your comments to the topic. 1. Do you place orders for food delivery to your door? 2. If the answer to #1 is, Yes, how often per month do you place orders for food delivery? 3. What types of food do you order? (Please place them in order with the first type being the type you order most often.) 4. Do the stores you order from charge a Delivery Fee? If, yes, how much? 5. Do you tip the driver/delivery person? (If you answer yes, please answer the next three questions as well.) 6. If the store charges a Delivery Fee, do you use that as a factor in determing how much you tip? 7. What formula do you use for determing how much to tip? 8. If you were aware that the Delivery Fee does not all go to the driver, would that have any influence on the amount of your tip? 9. Overall, have you been pleased with the service you use for food delivery? COMMENTS: |

Yes 2. If the answer to #1 is, Yes, how often per month do you place orders for food delivery? Maybe once every two weeks 3. What types of food do you order? (Please place them in order with the first type being the type you order most often.) Chinese, Pizza 4. Do the stores you order from charge a Delivery Fee? If, yes, how much? Only on really small orders (personal orders) 5. Do you tip the driver/delivery person? (If you answer yes, please answer the next three questions as well.) Yes 6. If the store charges a Delivery Fee, do you use that as a factor in determing how much you tip? Yes 7. What formula do you use for determing how much to tip? The delivery fee is like a mandatory tip. I treat it the same way that I treat gratuity fees at restaurants. I usually tip more than 15% (around 20%). If some sort of tipping/delivering fee is enforced on me, I pay only that. How it works is if you ask me to pay a certain tip it's all you're going to get. If you leave a tip at what it should be, not a mandatory fee but me thanking you personally, then you'll get something nicer. All that is null and void if you provide poor service. 8. If you were aware that the Delivery Fee does not all go to the driver, would that have any influence on the amount of your tip? No. That would just make me question who else I'm paying. It's already their job to make me a pizza and bring it to my door, and I'm more than happy to help with gas or dealing with the weather. Now I have to pay them extra for no reason? Or pay people who didn't go out of their way to get me a pizza? Greedy. 9. Overall, have you been pleased with the service you use for food delivery? Yes. COMMENTS: Wear pants whenever possible.

1. Do you place orders for food delivery to your door?
Yes. 2. If the answer to #1 is, Yes, how often per month do you place orders for food delivery? Maybe once a month. 3. What types of food do you order? (Please place them in order with the first type being the type you order most often.) Pizza. 4. Do the stores you order from charge a Delivery Fee? If, yes, how much? Yes, $1.50. 5. Do you tip the driver/delivery person? (If you answer yes, please answer the next three questions as well.) Yes. 6. If the store charges a Delivery Fee, do you use that as a factor in determing how much you tip? No. 7. What formula do you use for determing how much to tip? 12% of order, rounded up to the nearest dollar. I'll give more if the weather is bad. I gave 20% one time when I got my pizza quick in a sudden snow storm of 3-4in. 8. If you were aware that the Delivery Fee does not all go to the driver, would that have any influence on the amount of your tip? No. 9. Overall, have you been pleased with the service you use for food delivery? Yes, it's a local pizza chain and I've always had good luck getting my pizza within 30mins. COMMENTS: I almost always order pickup since I tend to get my pizza faster when I pick it up. Tip and gas cancel out, it's just a time factor for me. I only order delivery when I've been drinking! The chineese place is literally across the street from me so I just walk over and pick it up. |

If the store charges a Delivery Fee, do you use that as a factor in determing how much you tip? ~>no 7. What formula do you use for determing how much to tip? ~>none, if the cost is say any number dollars, with any figure for cents (23.49 or 19.66 or 32.13 as examples) then we usually just round up, in the case of say the 23 dollar amount, we might just throw a 20+5 dollar bill at the guy and say done with it. 8. I don't order food, if I did, YAYitsAndrew's answers would pretty much sum up my actions.

I'm reading the responses and really do appreciate them. I want to give everyone who's interested and willing a chance to respond before I give my 'summary' of why this was posted at all.
