Ahh Damnit..
Went into our store cupboard today to find some tools, to find my box of my most intricate Warhammer conversions lying on the floor crushed.
![]() all of my favourite pieces, and I mean all, are broken to bits. Hundreds of hours went into them, in my teens, when I actually had hundreds of spare hours for such frivolaty. I know, only sad wierdo's get upset by this kind of thing, but wtf. I'm sad for all that work going down the pan cos one of my ingrate kids sat a sledge hammer on top of one of my prized possessions.

i recently parted ways with my rather large collection of [some incredibly old] Magic: The Gathering cards.
I had stuff from Beta on up through, ugh...i forget...Odyssey? I quit when they changed all the rules and the card layouts and made it queer looking like a Pokemon clone ![]() SOmetiems you just gotta get rid of the stuff to make room under the bed or in the back of the closet |

I used to paint those figures when I was a kid too, in fact it ended up people paid me to paint them and I spent about 2 years of my teenage years painting lead figures for people. It actually paid pretty well too and helped me enjoy my teenage years
![]() sorry to hear you lost that stuff, it probably had a lot of sentimental value. |

I'm terrible for starting threads and forgetting to come back to them
so thanks for the replies guys ![]() I did very little painting of minitures, suffer from constant shakes unfortunately one of my brothers used to paint stuff for me (he didn't get paid for it though )Quote:
last time we got to the point where we just had far too much stuff and not enough space for it, we bought a bigger house ![]() anyway, vowed to start building again come winter time, so maybe throw some piccy's up in a few months if I do anything I'm happy with. got a new tank half built that I have some big ideas for, and a gf with some painting talent (amongst others), so that might work out. |

Silver lined cloud says: At least you wont have to clean/dust such delicate objects, and you wont have to worry about them getting ruined anymore...
![]() I say - Sentimental attachments to ANYTHING, opens yourself up to emotional roller coasters - If you want to experience joy - you almost always will experience what many to consider to be 'less desired' emotions along with such 'joys'. ?? maybe I'm Jaded... But 'realistic' is my prefered my wording. Just like: Dont get married and you'll never get divorced Dont own a pet and never experience the anguish when the pet dies Don't own a car and never get pulled over for drunk driving / speeding / soliciting prostitutes - er... you know what I mean My Point? - Its life - "you take the 'bad' with the 'good', if you want the 'good' bad enough" - me. (That IS an original quote by me btw) - its like a law - and ignorance of this law is no excuse :P |

I had a friend who had lots of Warhammer models, painted up real nice, who suddenly decided he didn't want them and so gave them to his little brother. His brother took a few out into the garden and generally messed them up (burying them, hitting them with things, throwing them etc.) so my friend went crazy and took them all back.
Some things you just can't get rid of. |
